I dont believe elementary school is designed to start a career or pursue a passion, but to learn to communicate with society. Once that bedrock is established deeper understandings of those connections are explored in middle school and furthered in high school. Yet none of those three get students ready for a "career". Even college does a poor job of that. A career is a arbitrary idea that may disappear as you know it. The industrial revolution and its concepts are small slice of human history. My child isnt a cog for you or anyones machine
