novel idea. if you can barely get by yourself, then dont fukking have kids. how in the hell is having 1, 2 or 3 kids or living way above their means and then whining about not having any money "sometimes not their fault" as opposed to 1000% their fault. a dude with no kids can EASILY get by with min wage for a period of time, til you grind up in the workplace. if you dont have any ambition to do better, or decide to fukk off and have kids you cant afford then why is it on other people that you have a rough go in the finance department? kids and a family arent prerequisites when you are born. they are a luxury, just like a nice car or a nice house is. if you cant afford to have them, then dont have them. its elementary math. if you make 8 bucks an hour, you cannot afford kids. you know what you can afford? a condom.

All I know is that Walmart and Mcds should not be paying the same Minimum as the mom and pop grocery store.

I think it should be raised if not, these jobs should provide some or some type of benefits then cuz u can't really make it on minimum wage. Large corporations or chains should have higher wages cuz their profit margins are so gigantic like Pizza Hut or papa johns or Taco Bell
i'm all for people getting money, but where does it stop?....if min wage is raised, what about the rest of jobs? if they raise min wage, that means they should raise others salaries too, right?...I don't make min wage (I have before, talking about 4.25/hr, not now), yet my salary is still bullshyt...I work more than 40 yrs a week for a set in stone salary; and I get taxed out the ass...I'm barely making it, but my company isn't raising wages...hell, even though they making money, they just froze wage increases for the second time in the last 5 years; but they asking for more work outta us....now, the reason for that lil rant is to ask: where does it stop?...it's called min wag for a reason...people shouldn't be trying to live off min wage, and that's what people are trying to do...I understand life is tough and circumstances can cause shyt to happen, but it shouldn't be your goal to work a min wage job like it's a career....and that's what it seems people want to do...min wage jobs should be for college students, high schoolers, the elder, and muthafukkas down on their luck/in a hard place...not for people trying to live the good life...
the not their fault part refers to those who live in broken homes and have never seen anything resembling a normal life or a better way so they dont really know any better. no one in their family or community to serve as a role model. i had to learn a lot of shyt on my own through experiences and trial and error. wasn't taught a lot of shyt. pops is and was around but not "there".
people who make minimum wage dont have healthcare in general cause they cant afford it. the education problem stems from the parents and the environment that the kids live in. not only that, damn near EVERY school in my area is fukking trash (sans private schools), even the ones i went to; except my colleges. it takes until college to separate people academically in new orleans, and that hurts me. this is not separating by race this is just overall.
it hurts me that the black community doesnt put education first even still in the 10s, when there are no roadblocks. i know not a lot of us can afford private schools, and its because us, and our parents and grandparents didnt have the opportunities. I wonder who will break that cycle.
if i ever have a kid i will give him or her as many opportunities as I can and teach them about the real world that they will undoubtedly still live in 20-25 years from now.
Show me some proof that people want to work minimum wage like a career?
the only proof I have is the people I've come in contact with...I've worked with people that were doing a min wage job for years...the only reason they might have been getting more than min wage was cause of the time they had been there...i'm talking cats that had a kid or 2, talked about making movies but never actually made any...if you want other proof, how about the story on yahoo and other places a couple weeks ago that showed you cant live on a mcdonald's salary?...having people (not college students, teenagers, etc.) complain about they cant live off min wage....why are you trying to live off min wage?..
and again i ask: where does it stop?...and if you raise min wage, does that mean other wages will be raised?
