He did what he did. There is no taking that away. However, the way we tend to paint things should not only be in question it should be completely revamped. The Spurs were the ultimate team in 2014 and they ran through a gassed Heat team. Any of their top 4 could've won MVP. Kawhi just got extra props for holding Bron to 28 on 60% shooting. Last year he balled and was the guy. However, this year (and 1/4 of the season last year) clearly demonstrated how thorough that squad was around him. He didn't carry them anywhere. He played his part, like everyone else did. Winning is about circumstance and dependent on the performance of others no matter how great you are. There is also something to be said for pressure. Plenty of guys can perform when no one cares whether you win or lose or if that heat isn't gonna fall on you. It takes a truly special player to deliver when all eyes are on you and it's win or bust. That's GOAT shyt, not being fortunate enough to be on the right team in the right situation.
