Should boys start school a year later than girls because of developmental differences?

Will boys benefit from 1 year delay in academic education?

A lot of issues people have with school, especially when it comes to high school, are tied to a single question "Why tf do I have to learn this?"

That's what causes people to say things like what Lamelo said.

Soo many times I heard this BS ass question when the work gets too frustrating...meanwhile they're not aware of the associated skills being drilled (organizing and structuring, relating ideas, forming arguments, etc) when it gets into the deep part of the curriculum

No wonder they're not aware of these skills, nobody tells them. :dead:

What do you teach?

Boys would be better off in an environment that didn't demonize them being boys that would be a start.

I mean it's a scientific fact that girls developed their brains are an earlier age that boys , but idk about delaying them a year.

I remember what Scott Gallaway said about this in his “why are men failing” piece but there were some problems with his assessment.

-One, there was no data that proved this would work.

-Even Galloway speculated that it may not work.

-This doesn’t change the apathy levels that men are having towards attending college. There has to be more boys to college interactions early on.

@ 9:08...wow, I'm really surprised he mentioned black boys and men, specifically. This was a really interesting video. I didn't know that about the male brain developing slower than the female brain. Again, a very interesting video. Thanks, OP!

All Black Male public HS in DC.

Ron Brown College Preparatory High School is a public, magnet school located in WASHINGTON, DC. It has 216 students in grades 9-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 7 to 1. According to state test scores, 5% of students are at least proficient in math and 17% in reading.

I can't speak for all the communities out there, but Black Boys in Black Schools need a lot of help.

I think this may be to do with girls being more emotionally manipulative from early. Boys are pretty cut and dry as kids and their emotions are a lot more straightforward to navigate in my experience. Whereas girls have a myriad of reasons why they are crying from very early.

It’s also evident that boys pride is important to them from before they even know what it is.

This is nonsense.
