Should boys start school a year later than girls because of developmental differences?

Will boys benefit from 1 year delay in academic education?

Points in this video

This guy is advocating for more male teachers are needed in schools. This would help boys have more male role models, and more teachers that relate to them.

Boys to attend school 1 year later than girls because of brain development differences in the pre frontal cortex in decision making, delayed gratification etc. So starting a year later would mean that they would be more on par with the girls in the classroom.

More investment in vocational studies, this would go back to woodshop and home economics.

Do they still have these classes in school?

What about all boys vs all girls schools?

In alot of developing countries the schools are separated by Gender and the educational disparities don’t seem as large. Plenty engineers doctors etc come from developing countries with segregated education.

Vocational studies are bigger in these country’s because of the need to bolster the work force, therefore make morale is higher because the pecking order is in check, men’s duties are more clear, less blurring the lines.

It would seem that first world countries have outpaced human development causing these men vs women debates. When the intrinsic need for the structure of male roles vs female roles is still needed.

I went to normal schools. Had one of the top gpas in my class. Could have skipped a grade or two in elementary if I wanted to. Graduated college in four years. I've often been told my handwriting (especially cursive) can be mistaken for a woman's because it's so neat.

and I'm not the most intelligent dude on the planet. The reason boys have worse handwriting than girls and some struggle in school is because teachers and parents do not hold them accountable. This rhetoric that girls are more mature and smart has been said in classrooms since I was growing up (sometimes directly to me...how demoralizing to a young child is that?), and that influences how people treat students. There were teachers who frankly didn't give af if the boys in the class were articulate or not, and focused their efforts on mentoring the girls.

My parents believed in the belt. I got a 60 on my first spelling test and finished top of class from that point on. 100 after 100 after 100. Academics were just as important as sports in my household and it reflected in my track record.

Do you think that boys would benefit from all boys schools?

Honestly I think girls were shown favoritism when I went to grammar school

Plus I will never forget when this angela Davis looking woman in the 3rd grade went on a whole ass rant about why men ain’t shyt and how they don’t do this or that juxtaposed to women

It’s probably not surprising to hear only the girls were making honor rolls and getting academic rewards at the school

That’s awful and shouldn’t be allowed for children who are just learning about themselves and are shaping their ideology of the world

I’m not a scientist and I can’t back this with a source off top, but in college I do vaguely remember seeing a study that said girls start developing earlier than boys, but that it stalls for a few years which allows boys to catch up.
I think there is fact behind this, whilst women’s bodies get ready for baby making, boys brains are able to catch up by the time they hit their mid to late teens. I’m sure there’s an article somewhere.
