ignore that post I think I misheard her say something about the story getting scrapped and because she said she had sourcing back to 2021 I got confused over what story ESPN scrapped.

but I guess it was the "scrapped story" was the one that they were going to release yesterday before the Dodgers fired the interpreter? I don't know, this shyt is convoluted as fukk.

Ohtani definitely guilty that 4.5 mil of gambling debt doesn't make sense for Ippei like it does for Ohtani

I work in a casino. Nobody making 300k is getting credit for 4 million. Ohtani needs to vet his team better.

At best he's naive and being taken advantage of. At worst he's committing a few federal crimes. At least MLB is getting this out of the way now, before the A's move to Vegas

I'd love a true account of what Ippei was doing. I bet dude was LIVING. I'd be telling hoes (in English) that he was my brother with his ass standing right next to me. Ohtani big dumb ass just standing there grinning not knowing I'm about to be knee deep in two pawgs :noah:

That’s the thing, that was just his interpreter salary. But he was ohtani right hand man, everything from training to dealing with Japanese endorsements.

Not to mention the bets were not placed on baseball. Ohtani is someone who gave all his Japanese baseball salary to his mom, came early to mlb for league minimum missing out on huge sums had he waited 2 years. I think at best it’s true that ohtani was being lied to, had no idea about the money, and ippei took advantage during ohtanis rehab last sept and oct when the wires took place and at worst committed wire fraud had he performed the wires himself.

I don’t even know what you are talking about.

I’m talking about people targeting successful people to do shyt to them. Gang members tend to approach black athletes
name someone, and he wasn't in the hood shaking hands with criminals

Mizuhara says that, after Ohtani agreed to pay the debts, the two of them logged into Ohtani's bank account on Ohtani's computer and sent eight or nine transactions, each at $500,000, over several months. They added "loan" to the description field in the transactions. Mizuhara estimates the final payment was made in October.

:gladbron::pachaha:

I can't even lie, reading the espn article makes me feel that ohtani wasn't gambling, he's a real one if he really did this shyt for his homie.:mjlol:

Mizuhara declines to tell ESPN the full amount he lost gambling but confirms it's at least $4.5 million. He calls it "embarrassing."

"My wife doesn't even know about any of this until even right now," he says.

Major League Baseball has opened a formal investigation into the matter surrounding Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani and his former interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, the league announced Friday.

MLB is expected to request interviews with all parties, including Ohtani and Mizuhara, a source told ESPN, although officials will have no way to compel Mizuhara's cooperation since he no longer works for baseball.
:skip:
Ohtani also has a right to refuse cooperation as a member of the MLB Players Association.
