Y’all should see the mood in Japan. It’s like the day after JFK got clipped. This dude is on all the commercials all the billboards and basically every newscast starts with what he’s did the day before. If he gets popped for this the nationwide shame may collapse the economy. 
That said they are some of the most naive and sheltered people I have ever met. So I can almost believe Ohtani gave access to his bank accounts to a gotdamn interpreter. Him being a socially awkward dude who doesn’t control his own finances would track.
