I did this piece for the homie as a way to help make sense of all of this...

I know I never met you before.

But somehow, I reflect on the question.

Of what if?

You took the step near the mirror.

And realize that you are truly superior.

Such a blessing beyond recognition

The tours you slay and the promises you made.

Felt broken right as you pace.

But trust me once you face reality.

That you touch souls for an honest gig

Instead of a soulless salary

Is all you must see beyond the dark clouds.

The sounds of the piano you played.

Man…it was haunting.

Alarmingly majestic like some sort of phantom

Of the hip hop opera

It seems weird like I REALLY DON’T KNOW YOU

But maybe I do…

You remind me of my uncle that I have not seen.

Since I was told he laid in the cold

Lonely and scold of a past life that he wishes he could achieve.

You did not believe in your own success story.

I mean you are further proving of newfound glory.

In a temple of funk, blues, and rhythm

The story made headline news.

You gave a man guidance from the underground.

To better days

It was strictly astonishing of the role you played.

To give that man the ability to have all eyes on he

Yet who is truly seeing you?

You take modesty to a whole different ball game.

Hell…I do the same.

So, when you blame others for lack of acknowledgement.

I take that knife to the side with such precision.

The decision for you to make an escape of your own mind.

The imperfect design of unconstitutional failure

regret, doubt, pain, agony, and temptation

lace with physical vices can bring down a spirit.

downward near the end of the underground

hands glide slowly….

eyes glowed…I am worried.

the thump of the instrumental Sex Packets

plays with such a bass that counts down the heart rate.

one…. two…. three….

spiritual state exit, the news on the internet

and a note on the wall…. Don’t leave…we need you….

I remember in my middle school the rumor was that Humpty Dumpty had no nose after it was burned off in a fire. I believed that shyt lol. R.I.P Shock
From his Wikipedia
“A fictional biography was constructed for Humpty, the story being that Edward Ellington Humphrey III, former lead singer of "Smooth Eddie and the Humpers," had become a rapper after burning his nose in a kitchen accident with a deep-fryer (the story was even told by Casey Casem himself on his then countdown show Casey's Top 40)

:francis:Even the rugged shyt sounded smooth af too:mjcry:

I swear it just seems like dude was the embodiment of peace. I was talking to my wife about this, like when Pac was with the Underground...dude was on his element. He was really saying shyt that affected the community and almost felt like a revolutionary without being a hypocrite with the shyt:hhh:.

Like there just seems like a light with Shock G that sadly he did not recognize. He became so modest with his style that it ended up keeping him alienated from further potential :mjcry:

Jeez this really is messing me up more than it should :why:. I don't even know the brother but I feel his spirit surrounding me through his music.

"You cant even say whats up to a brotha no more":francis:. Still holds true/hasnt changed at all.

Cats be on that stare down shyt when passing by. Either speak, nod back or keep it moving, no need to be on that extra shyt:what:

Breh that's how it was in Philly. Like heaven's forbid you wave at a dude or anything with a uplifting gesture, folks would act like you are set tripping:dwillhuh:.

When I moved down south and got greeted by a random stranger, that shyt blew my mind. Like manners and being kind is still a thing.

Breh I was born and raised up there, I know for a fact dudes used to mean mug majority of the time. Now there are moments where dudes would walk up and kick convo though which was amazing. Like one time, I was getting a hoagie from papi and this dude was rapping and greeted me. I was like "sup". He proceeded to asked if I heard of this group called Major Figgaz.

I was like nah at the time because this was before their record deal. Within that next year "Yeah That's Us" came out and I was like :ohhh:....

But yeah, It's a mixed bag of folks being cool versus just being all to themselves when it comes down to being polite.

Philly isn't the south as far as being happy ass nikkas getting you all the time but the shyt you was kicking wasn't true so I spoke on it. I'm not saying it won't ever happen but how you're making it seem stop it my man. That isn't Philly and to keep it funky most places I've been to.
