I don't think you can say he flopped.

He won a Rumble and had a major title match at Mania. He was not handled as well he could've done, but he had a great debut on NXT, and I enjoyed some of his work as a heel.

The AJ program was a massive let down from a match quality perspective though. Too much bullshyt fukkery booking.

Now he can return to NJPW as an even bigger star. He made the right career move.

I'd be surprised if he left but his booking was VERY underwhelming but so is 95% of the roster as whole.

That Dallas debut is something i'll never forget though. :wow:
He peaked there which is wild when you think about it. That entrance and match are still lit:wow:

Overrated NJPW wrestler. Not everything is WWE fault. After Sami carried him, people thought that was the regular. LOL.

He isnt overrated. No one who actually watched him wrestle for the past decade or so believed he'd have all these classics unless he magically stopped being lazy. He doesnt apply himself much (starting to think Naito's character is a spoof on him :patrice: ) but the overall weird shyt he does is fun as hell to watch. But WWE failed him as much as he failed WWE.

He was dead in the water when he was sacrificed to Jinder two months in a row when it was obvious that they weren't going to do shyt with Jinder once his reign was over. They could have cemented him as a top guy for as long as he was around by crowning him at Summerslam in front of the super hot for him Brooklyn crowd. Then they cooled him off the rest of the year only to have him win the Rumble and lose to AJ 8 times in a row.

Shinsuke is smart for saving his effort for matches that matter because obviously that’s where the money is but the problem is that he’s signed to the Entertainment.
