To be fair though, very little has happened in the last 10-15 chapters of the manga. This final arc has been mostly about Isayama showing the scope and devastation of the Rumbling more than plot.
If the anime is able to end when Eren starts the Rumbling, then they can easily finish off the story in 1 or 2 movies with the remaining 20 chapters of the story.
