First thing first.

I’m a fan of the original Captain Marvel from Fawcett Comics. He was superior to Superman at the time in strength, speed, power, magic, popularity and comic book sales. When billy screamed SHAZAM! he turned turned into an full adult, not an adult with the brain of a child. He was the first Superhero on the big screen.

I hate what DC did to him in the new 52.
I hate the new family of SHAZAM! members.
I hate how they turned him into a full adult with the brain of a child. Too many characters to focus on who are unoriginal and not captivating.

For years DC have been giving SHAZAM! the short end of the stick, including their modern version of him in the new 52. They Propped Black Adam up more recently and lately then they did captain. They killed Captain Marvel’s character off in comics and video games too for no reason.

There is no Black Adam without Captain Marvel. DC knows that Captain Marvel original story if done right could be a big problem against Superman in sales and popularity but they refuse to respect the character and we get this new take on him that’s crap. For god’s sake where’s Tawky Tawny.

The only anything Captain Marvel you should watch on the screen is the original show from the 1940’s. Justice League Unlimited, and Superman vs. Shazam!

This, 100%. Me too regarding being a fan of Shazam. I liked Jeff Smith's Shazam run since it was so heavily targeted to kids (my 7 year old nephew loved it), but the way DC changed Shazam in new 52 and beyond is disappointing. They have no vision for him...he literally has the wisdom of Solomon, but acts like a moron on screen.

And nobody has ever given a fukk about the marvel family outside of Mary and maybe Freddy. Ridiculous to push everyone else.

I never thought a movie series would hurt the character...I've always said it was the most slept on IP other than maybe GI:JOE. What a misfire...

Clearly, Gunn stepping in and wanting to reboot the universe led to less marketing for a film whose franchise probably won't play a role in the next stage.

But to pretend its unfair to criticize a producer/star of the films, the guy that talked about how his franchise would steer the direction of DC, seemingly wanted nothing connecting his character/movie to Shazam, making his big nemesis Super instead, had a massive flop, leaked fake numbers to make it seem like it didn't flop and then blocked characters from his movie from appearing in Shazam is crazy.

Do I think Rock preventing this post credit scene hurt the quality/success of the movie? Of course not.

But did Rock make decisions that clearly put himself over the universe, fukk. yes.

And calling the first Shazam a kids movie like Black Adam was some no holds barred flick is

They took a character that nobody cares about, Shazam...and made it a slapstick almost kid movie, and then when it bombed all I hear is "the rock sabotaged it"


Did he throw the original script in the trash or something?

How about this? Don't put Meagan Goode in your movie. Everything she's is in flops.

Ultron isn't Iron Man's biggest villian. That movie did pretty good.

Killmonger isn't Black Panther biggest villain. That movie did pretty good.

Scarlett Which isn't Dr Strange biggest villain. That movie did pretty good.

But the Rock absolutely ruined this trash ass movie because he took away their biggest villain. Ok.

This basically should have been the movie.

The DC actors seem to think they are all bigger on their own than together. Imagine having the literal #1 Comic Book team movie rights in your hands and people out here playing games, while Marvel got people signed up doing Guardians sequels playing on the same team. Hopefully the new dude that's taking over "Flashpoints" all these people out of existence and start the DCU fresh and just copy Marvel. Like I been saying the whole time.

There’s no need to copy Marvel. Too much mid there too. Just make good movies as they’ve shown they can.

Mid is still better than bad or trash.

Also, Shazam 1 was basically everything some of the Marvel movies have been criticized for, slandered about, and shytted on for. Same for Aquaman.

At the end of the day. I agree DC and anyone really just need to make good CB movies.

The thing is the greats stand out which make people give the mid/trash passes

I think real problem is….

When it comes to DC movies, everyone fans and haters come in and watch them with low expectations. So if the movie is trash than it’s expected and if it’s somehow decent. It’s gets over praised.

Yet with Marvel movies, everyone fans and haters come in with such astronomically high and different expectations, with the extra issue of “wanting the movie to be their movie that’s just for soley them.” And if it meets that, cool. But if one little thing is off from the expectations than the movie is mid, horrible, trash and etc.

I don’t think either approach is a good approach, it’s fun for internet banner and playful joking. That should NEVER be taking serious or taking to certain levels some people do where they start personally attacking folks.

But outside of that, these movies should be be looked at for what they are and what

And next up is The Flash. A movie that they can't even advertise the main actor for because he terrorized an entire American state.

Also Affleck said he's done with DC, Keaton is too old, and Supergirl is a b-list hero. So that's probably going to underperform.

Then Blue Beetle which they're trying to turn into their latino Black Panther but likely nah


And over at Marvel they deliberately screwed up Kang's arrival so they probably have to "re-introduce" him, they have c list directors for their up coming films, are probably kneecapping the new Captain America by refusing to give him the serum , fired their exec over CGI because she was so trash, the Marvels will probably flop, and people are starting to get tired of Marvel films in general because of the mid they've been putting out for years.
