Shawty Redd is one of those guys who doesnt get his credit when it comes down to looking back at history.

He was probably the real originator of the "Lex Luger sound" that we credit Lex for.

Jeezy is definitely the first time a lot of people, specifically people outside of the Atlanta area, heard Shawty Redd for the first time.

I was bout to say, Shawty Redd and Zaytoven are thee blueprint when it comes to today's hip hop. TM101 changed the landscape of rap by introducing Trap Music to the mainstream and Jeezy didn't do that by himself, so at the very least I'd call it a mutual effort.

Sheesh, it's been almost 20 years since that album and I remember it dropping like it was yesterday. That's impact.

I dont see anything wrong with admitting Jeezy gave you your first big look. But maybe they on bad terms right now.

I 100% agree with you though on how both those producers are the blueprint to today's music. Except for Zaytoven. He's really had a relevant sound for almost 3 decades now. Dude has made music for everyone from Gucci to Usher to Drake. Honestly he has a case for top 5 producers oat. I might have him top 10 personally.

Zaytiggy is definitely a GOAT in this shyt. I don't do rankings much, but he's probably been my favorite producer since I first heard Make The Trap Say Aye at my after prom. I'll never forget that shyt lol. These dudes been making timeless music man.

He is one of them, but credit must be given to DJ Toomp and Drumma Boy (one of the most overlooked producers ever). They definitely put their stamp on trap music and I'm sure Shawty Redd would credit both as influencing his sound.

Gangsta Boo's "Sippin &Spinnin" sounds like a Zaytoven beat before Zaytoven was even known.

No he doesn't have a case for top 5 producers of all time. Not even Top 10. Zay ain't even got a better case than DJ Toomp, Drumma Boy, Organize Noize, Lil' Jon, and a few more ATL producers alone.

Nah Zaytoven definitely up there. Hes more influential than most producers. Made hits with every type of artist.

No one's denying that, but he isn't a GOAT. It's a lot of producers that would make a Top 5-10 that are more influential and have made bigger hits with a wider range of artists.

With all due respect to those guys (cause you're definitely right), I don't hear them still making hits consistently in the last decade like Zaytoven. I think that's what separates him from them. While all of those guys had their moment, Zay had a resurgence after Migos dropped Versace and really hasn't gone anywhere since.

They have bigger songs than Zaytoven and a lot of the songs he's done aren't exactly huts at least not on the level of what the guys I named had during their runs.
