So I've got about 8 months since I abandoned cartridge razor blades in favor of safety edge razors.
If you haven't tried it, I recommend it.
I'm using an Edwin Jagger DE89BA11 with Astra Blades and not only is the shave closer, but it saves a hell of a lot more money than paying for packs of 4 or 8 Mach 3s.
A 100-count pack of Astras can run you 10 bucks...and you won't have to buy blades for like 2 years.
Anyone else give safety razors or straight razors a shot?
Yeah. The only way I can avoid irritation and cutting my neck is if I really prep my face before. But who has time for all that?i been using straight razors to shave my face and head. first 3 times i used it on my head i never saw so much blood but i got used to it and now i get a nice clean shave. i get a little bit of razor burn on my neck but i get that no matter what i use. i just make sure i throw on some after shave and shower with cold water after. using hot water before u shave eliminates alot of razor burn
You sure you meant a straight razor? My skin won't allow me to use a straight razor. I use the fusion pro glide at the moment

You can do a search on youtube for advice and tips on shaving with safety razors.
This guy, Geofatboy has tons of videos with different types of razors and he's pretty knowledgeable. You can just search his videos and learn a lot.
because you're whiteI've heard of tea tree oil, but I just never got around to trying it.
i don't get razor bumps though.
I have a face moisturizer I use after shaving that's pretty good....
