So I've got about 8 months since I abandoned cartridge razor blades in favor of safety edge razors.
If you haven't tried it, I recommend it.

I'm using an Edwin Jagger DE89BA11 with Astra Blades and not only is the shave closer, but it saves a hell of a lot more money than paying for packs of 4 or 8 Mach 3s.

A 100-count pack of Astras can run you 10 bucks...and you won't have to buy blades for like 2 years.

Anyone else give safety razors or straight razors a shot?

I'll definitely have to check this out. I spend a lot on razors. I get a 5 o clock shadow so sometimes I have to shave twice a day

Edit. I meant to say safety razors.

This is a safety razor

And this is a straight razor

Sorry for the confusion
Straight razors are tougher to use and take longer to learn.

I knew what you meant, my dad taught me to us a straight razor. But still if i can find something that easier to use than I would use that. If you got the time to learn (trust me its gonna take sometime) than I would def go with the straight razor.

I can't use a straight razor otherwise I breakout like crazy.

I use electric's. Wahl, Remington, and Norelco...they all serve their desired purpose.
Yeah I know a few people that get bad razor bumps so they have to use electrics.
I might get an electric one day just to switch it up.

Yeah, I've heard that straight razors are awesome. Plus, it's just cool to pull out...so old school

I really didn't know this, but Andis makes some really nice high end clippers and attachments.
I think most people just buy trimmers and clippers at a store for like $60 or whatever and cut their hair with that...but there's a whole other level to their products. I didn't realize until my barber was rambling about how much money he spent on equipment.

The t outliner is around 80-100 depending on where you buy but it's a pretty good trimmer. Suitable for shaving, you'll just have to shave more often.

I don't have an Andis clipper but good to know if I decide to pick one up down the line.
