I thought that was masterfully done. In that moment you're only worried about stopping Mama Munchausen.Except they set it up to make you think the mom did it and you desperately want Amma to get out of there and survive so I don't really understand how we should've seen this coming. I only had a suspicion fukkery was afoot because there was so much time left in the episode after the mom went to jail
Eh, it was obvious before the reveal.
Right at the beginning I guess that Amma's friends were the killers, but I have to admit I didn't suspect Amma herself.
Kinda itching to rewatch it now. Show was the reason I thought Amy Adams would be cast as Beverly in IT: Chapter Two considering Sophia Lillis played her younger self here.I thought that was masterfully done. In that moment you're only worried about stopping Mama Munchausen.
It was the opposite for me. I thought it was Amma from the rip. But I never suspected her friends. They were inconsequential to me.
Yeah I just binged it over the last couple of days. Not a fan of Amy Adams but this kept showing up in the recommendations for me so I checked IMDb for the rating and saw it had an 8.1.That's kinda like a barometer for me. On IMDb, if a show gets an 8.0+ it's almost always a legitimately good show.
And I enjoyed this. The music was great. You mentioned earlier, I guess now, years agothe intro theme from episode 1. Outstanding. Did they od on the trauma porn? Yes. Whole time I was thinking about the criticism the Saw franchise and other horror movies get for gorror porn. But cacs gon cac.
I've never heard of the book. Never watched any spoiler videos. Never read anything related to the show. I immediately suspected Amma. Everybody who watched saw how unhinged this little demon was. What did it for me was when Camille follows her to the pig farm and peeps her leaving with a little baby pig. Amma shoots her asmile. I knew she was gonna put that little pig down. She was a serial killer, getting her start killing small animals, working her way up to the big leagues. But to the show's credit, they shifted the focus to Mama Munchausen but Amma's demonic nature was always simmering under the surface.

I’ve watched it several times now. I’m deeply saddened by the loss of Jean Marc, the direction in this show is literally perfection and I think is underrated. It would’ve been very exciting to see what he would do next. The show came out at a time my younger self was drinking a lot of bourbon, always had a couple glasses while watching when it first aired. I vibed so hard with Amy’s drunk ass.Kinda itching to rewatch it now. Show was the reason I thought Amy Adams would be cast as Beverly in IT: Chapter Two considering Sophia Lillis played her younger self here.
Jean Marc Vallee's directing style was so damn good though. If he was still around (R.I.P.), I think he would've killed it on True Detective. I always try to recommend it to the fans of that show since there's a lot of southern gothic elements in the atmosphere here as well. All of the haunting imagery in that rundown town made it come across like a fever dream.
YesWhat the fukk? Are there actually white families like this? No wonder America is so fukked up. Scut.
