On discogs there was an actual Untouchable album that was there but guess it got nuked by the site or something.
Yeah unfortunately theres a bunch of actual albums or whatever the case was if it was a ref cd or dat tape or reel etc that some dude on discogs went on a tear flagging them as being unproven because no photo provided or not catalog number etc, but they're all real.items, like some of the Pac or Dramacydal and other Death Row related stuff was removed, the fukked up thing is the guy is not even a hip hop head, like i clicked on his collection and it's all Aerosmith and Ozzy Ozborn and shyt, zero rap music, he was flagging all genres of stuff like a fukking discogs hallmonitor with nothing but time on his hands. And the way discogs works is the users are notified that an entry is being questioned and ultimately it comes down to a yes or no majority wins vote, so you have all these users who are clueless about this shyt that just vote to remove, bit like a lot of that stuff I can personally verify because they were group buys or one of my homies bought it privately and vaulted it, or the artists involved have verified it lol.
I remember that ad specifically in The Source. So long ago, but is that what caused the Daz/Suge final falling out?
Basically DR (keep in mind at this time Reggie is making a lot of decisions cause Suge is locked up) didn't want to put any more money into Daz as a solo artist, and Reggie was doing spiteful shyt like there was a big argument about getting a budget for It Might Sound Crazy music video and the answer was no and Daz was trippin cause it was like Dogg Food all over again there was momentum and then it was just being shut down, like ppl dont realize but Dogg Food had almost double first week sales compared to MATW and DR stopped any further promotion of the album a month after its release, theres an unreleased video for Respect and they were gonna film 2 other videos, one for Dogg Pound Gangstas and one undetermined and then that just went poof.
So it was more of that kinda stuff that was frustrating Daz and then I personally think one of the final straws was Reggie telling Daz "ok Daz, you're right, Might Sound Crazy is a hot record and deserves a video, and then some time passes and a fukking cartoon video that looks like it was done on MS Paint Animator gets sent to the video outlets, Daz went fukking bananas the story goes, and rightfully so, that's some spiteful ass shyt for Reggie to do, but honestly it was only a matter of time because at some point rumors started going around that Suge had slept with Daz baby mana, the first one, not Kenya Ware, the story always gets told as it was Daz wife which isn't accurate. But I think that sealed the deal, cause true or not in that instance Suge had proved that wasn't beneath him already with Michelle, which fukk how Straight Outta Compton biopic depicted it, the Michelle thing is why Dre left Death Row.
I do remember the Crooked I album he was going to put out "Say Hi to the bad guy Vol. 1" and his message board fukkery (I posted on there way back, unfortunately don't remember what my user name was there) such as saying he was gonna quit rapping to join the military after 9/11 and beating down half a dozen people on a bus that he thought were Death Row goons.
Bahahahahaha oh fukk, I completely forgot about Corporal First Sargent General Dillinger of the DPGC States Millitary lol oh man that was a classic era.
Daz definitely is an exaggerator at times but he always been a scrapper and a flash dancer with the pistol, and Suge is making the rounds with his alternate theory about the bodyguard not being the real shooter but truth be told that was a rumor that started floating in maybe 2001 on the low amongst DR circles and it wasn't Snoop who was rumored to be the real trigger man, take that for whatever it's worth.
A lot or people dont realize but Daz does have hands, he was taking a lot of Kurupt back fades for tensions between ICG guys cause Kurupt is a RSC, and he ragdolled the fukk outta Soopafly in broad daylight inside a swapmeet and knocked out all his front teeth, its wild how forgiving a person Soooafly is because a lot of DPG dudes have done him hella dirty, even his album, on the topic of Daz bootlegging Kurupt and Crook, every pressing of Dat Whoopty Whoop after the Raw Impact imprint version was Daz bootlegging it and Soopa wasn't getting paid off those. Ppl seem to forget or maybe never knew, but Daz bought his own CD pressing plant not too long after leaving Death Row.
Wildest DPG forum memory for me was when Daz was selling the first pressing of Makaveli and Dillinger and then had to stop cause Afeni sued him and forum members were like "I never got my copy, I already paid, i want a refund" etc. And Daz basically told mutha fukkas get it back in blood bytch lol, glad i was early and got my copy, although I never got the decals that were supposed to come with it lol. But yeah that era was wild cause Daz was so active and he'd argue with posters for pages on pages, fond memories, good times lol.
Quickly revisited that album. Bud'da did Bow Down, Do You Like Criminals, The Gangsta, The Killa And The Dope Dealer, Cross 'Em Out And Put A 'K, and 3 Time Felons. Outside of "Bow Down", all of them sound like they could have been Dre/Cube records, though Cross 'Em Out sounds like an NBK rip off so that might have been made for the Westside Connection album.
Yeah Bud'da was cooking up heat back then, theres a whole bunch of Kurupt and Budda tracks just vaulted in A&Ms warehouse storage.
Big props if some of this stuff does come out. What people who hoard these songs realize is as the years go by, the market for those tracks start drying up since non-Larry Holmes Garden Members aren't into the classic Death Row/West Coast sound of the mid 90's. I understand paying for the tracks, but if you're trying to make the money back, it's essentially a loss at this point.
So as someone who's been involved with pretty much all the major private buying groups since late 1998 I can shed some insight on why some of the stuff doesn't ever leak - sometimes it's just a rich kid fan who loves the idea of being the only person to have something, I've seen that with several Pac songs over the years, sometimes it's because the group collective wants it to stay in house, same idea really as the single person buyer who vaults, though when it comes to the long term B1 VIP members we wanted stuff to leak eventually, just in the right way, so often the general public would get what we crowdfunded within a year or 2 after we bought it and that satisfied the segment of ppl who wanted to have something exclusive, cause they did for a year or 2 and then new stuff is coming in so they're not so attached to the old stuff and then the majority section of the group which is the category where I fall into, our goal with the leaks was to present it in a way that was easy and enjoyable to digest to garner interest and recruit new VIP members so that we could acquire the higher priced stuff.
Sometimes its ppl trying to resell or sometimes with the stuff that cost the group $10k or more its ppl who maybe put in a thou or 1500 trying to recoup a little, which honestly I dont begrudge cause that's a big contribution that benefited a lot of ppl who only put in $50...but, one of the biggest reasons and this is why a lot of the best material will never see the light of day is because certain items can basically be tracked back who the source was (cause surprise surprise a lot of the big ticket items came from ppl directly linked to the material or someone who works for the label/company. So once that bridge is burned theres no more accessing that material. And that happened with a few of the Pac buys. And that resulted in a bunch of material being taken off the table for the future.
It's not that we didn't want the other fans to have the music we just was trying to bring yawl in the back door so we could keep the party going. Which honestly ppl claim they love the music so much and they'll blow $30 a week on junk food but wont pay $20 to hear some classic material??? That's wild to me, like in the VIP golden era the individuals in the group spent between $15-$30 for one of the group buys and that got us an unheard Snoop Dogg album from 97, like 8 tracks from what was to be the 2nd LBC Crew album and a bunch of retail bonuses like white label vinyl shyt and promo singles etc. And honestly to get a clean sounding lossless vinyl rip you A) have to know what you're doing and B) have to have somewhat high end equipment and C) take the time to do it cause it can be a lengthy process.
