Here comes the first part of my review for the Death Row Compilation that was leaked by B1st in january this year
1. Mobbin Wit Tha Dogg Pound:
Finally this song is available to bump. Dre hooks up an amazing beat here, bassline is incredible, dope synths & hard hitting drums. Daz & kurupt kill it. Great song to vibe to. Y'all probably familiar with this song from the "Sunset Park" OST or the "2002" compilation by Death Row, but now the og version finally leaked.
2. 16 Dead Doggs
Unfortunately its unknown who produced this track, since the beat is very rough & gritty. Hard hitting dope bassline & drums and K-Solo kills it. Great track, definetely gets your head noddin.
3. In The City / Up Down
Dont know exactly what the correct title is here. Produced by Dr Dre, Kurupt & Sam Sneed trade some rhymes over a very smooth & laidback beat. Dope drums and a cool lil melody with some synths & (i think) a lil percussion added in. Danny Boys singing is also A1. Its more of an r&b song anyway since the focus is clearly on the singing, the rap parts are pretty short. Cool laidback song to relax or ride to.
4. Dank, Drinkin & Draws
Another amazing production courtesy of Dr Dre & Shawn "Barney Rubble" Thomas. Incredible atmosphere on this one, sounds at the same time very laidback but also menacing & sinister. CPOs rap style is very unorthodox but if you like his voice & rapping style this is a great song for you. Otherwise you still got an amazing beat to vibe to.
5. In The Rain:
A r&b song by Tyrone Wrice who you might know as a member of "B-Rezell" (They also had a song on the MWTC OST). Very chill & smooth song to lay back to.
6. Smoke On
One of the best songs on here. The production is amazing on here, very smooth & nostalgic. Great sample as well. Snoop absolutely kills it. Classic Dre & Snoop at their best.
7. Lady Heroin
The Original version of this song (theres 5 versions in total (!)). Produced by Dr Dre & Sam Sneed. Absolute vintage Death Row Sound on this. Too bad Sam Sneed never released an album on Death Row.
8. Verbal Shots
On this track Bustop & Low MB from OFTB, Tray Deee, Techniec & Bad Azz from the LBC Crew & Kurupt from the Dogg Pound get busy on a LT Hutton beat. Production is dope on this one, a great bassline, some hard hitting drums and the mcs all kill it. Definetely shows how much rapping talent death row had. Y'all should know Bad Azz Verse from "Krazy" on 7DT
