The main theory people have said about CB's is, CB's are WR that can't catch.

If WR doesnt read the defense properly or messes up his route in one on one coverage, he just aint getting the ball. If a corner doesnt read right or messes up in one on one coverage that is 6. Knowing where you are going is a huge advantage as well.
