Low-key we gotta stop saying this. Social media IS the real world to most people of a certain age. Your actions on social media have REAL consequences. You talk onl social media to the wrong one and you WILL see action "in real life". The two cannot be separated anymore.

Saying it on social is no different than saying it on the phone back in the day...in fact its worse. These people have very REAL reactions to very REAL words and actions that people take on social media.

Treating it like its World of Warcraft or Fortnite or whatever is how we got to this place with Ja and countless other who thing its all fun and games on IG.

I will admit, when this first came out I defended Ja in The Coliseum because, I believed at that time that people were knocking a black man for having a gun in a video, and that if he were white, there wouldn’t be this outrage. But after looking at the posts on here, and listening to Sharpe, I understand the context of why he’s fukking up.

I have a conduct and ethics clause at my job so I understand. At the end of the day, HE signed that NBA contract, they didn’t force him. So he has to play by their rules.

When Charles Barkley said I’m not a role model, that stuck with me in how I view athletes. Most every athlete I grew up revering had a flaw or fall from grace. Kobe in Colorado, Jordan and gambling, Mike Vick. Hell I grew up a Seminoles fan and liked Bobby Bowden then I grew up and learned he was a racist sack of shyt, rest his soul.

But they taught me it’s not how many times you get knocked down, it’s how many times you get up. Ja better up from this. If I were him, I would get some publicized help from Iyanla, TD Jakes, or even some gun activists to show that you really are trying to change. Put out some PSA’s like TI or something. Donate a million and that time off during the suspension to Memphis Boys and Girls Clubs. That will help shift his public perception and image.
