Why does legally owning a firearm get you suspended in the NBA :dahell: he wasnt in the locker room orbl some shyt like arenas. if anything he should sue the NBA

He plays professional basketball. He's not on Shady Aftermath/Insterscope Records circa '03. Most employers will tell you during onboarding that any activity you exhibit "off the clock" and away from work reflects on them & represents the institution & you can be disciplined and/or terminated if they feel your behavior is detrimental to the public image they wish to maintain. That encompasses a lot of extracurricular activities that may not be illegal if you choose to make said activities public. If Ja wants to cosplay as a shooter without penalty, he needs to figure out how to pay himself a 250 million dollar salary. Until then, he represents his employer and is obligated to proceed accordingly.

I am surprised the first post with words in here has been the only really stupid one so far. :ehh:

Man was able to:
1) ocularly ascertain the ownership status and registration of the firearm through the video
2) act like doesn't understand why the league would have an issue with him doing the exact same thing he got suspended for, and promised not to do again, just months ago
3) then somehow add a cherry on top of his stupidity sundae by saying that he should sue the league

Boy you packed a lot of dumb into one short post. Highly efficient :whew:

I'm only on the first page though, let me continue...

There's an image that the NBA wants to maintain.

How would the NBA look if all it's stars are flashing guns and pretending to be gangsters??:beli:

When you're paying someone 100s of millions, you can DICTATE how they carry themselves.
Hell they don't even want them dressing like "Gangsters" or "Street" Ya'll seen what they did to Iverson :aicmon:

The Truth
I have a reel on my IG of me letting off rounds at a range
When I emptied the clip I laid the gat down and you can clearly see it's a Glock .40
My job ain't say shyt about it (if they even saw it. Some employers go through your SM as part of the background check and others don't).

Then again I'm not a NBA millionaire fake thugging for likes and clout.
:snoop:

Were you being an irresponsible gun owner bruh, dancing online waving your gun around while listening to death music or were you just at the range doing shyt a lot of us already do?

It's obvisous he doesn't give a fukk

But, it's hilarious that ppl talk about him like some "at risk youth"

Yes, he's wrong and is gonna get suspended...but, I don't care
He is an at risk youth now.. at risk of losing his $40 million a year

It’s just a simple issue of conduct! Again, it’s not that complex. I don’t know why some people don’t understand this lol

Ja can have all the guns he wants. He ain’t the only nikka in the league with one. Everybody has em. It’s well within their rights to have em.

He’s just the only one waving em on camera to NBA Youngboy. Of course there’s gonna be blowback from that. Like I said, I’m a big Ja fan. I’m not trippin, he’ll get past this bullshyt. He just needs to be private about his toolies and keep ‘em off the camera. If anyone is in violation, it’s his “look at me” ass friend who was so thirsty to show he was with Ja

Should Ja lose his job? No. But he’s gonna have to take whatever lil suspension and blow to his brand that comes with this. Is what it is.
Exactly. Also the context of his past troubles. His lawsuit involving that high schooler where he allegedly came outside with a gun tucked in his pants and the laser sight incident with NBA employees. He has a perceived history of recklessness and irresponsibility with firearms, it doesn’t matter what’s real or not. All he had to do was lay low, now he’s gonna be made an example of.

It makes perfect sense but nobody wants to say why out loud

There are very few ways society rewards black men. One of those rewards happens to be displays of violence and violent intent

Ja wants nikkas to look at him the way they look at their favorite rappers

I've made multiple posts over the last few years about how and why a lot of the suburbs have turned into 2 story house hoods since the early 2000s but them posts get crickets every time:pachaha:

This shyt BEEN going on way before Ja
Society, or just other black people? Because society in general only rewards black men who display violence with a bad perception, prison, and extra surveillance. It’s really sad that we are considered less black by our own people, if we speak properly, don’t like music about violence, sex, and drugs, do the right thing, and are upwardly mobile. On this very site we have people calling us c00ns, and saying we’re anti black for simply wanting criminals locked up, or saying not to depend on the government to rescue you.
