It really makes you wonder who raised some of these brothers or what their upbringings were like. We were taught early on that what flies for white folk could get us in trouble. Every time some shyt like this happens folk act like it's they're very first time facing this dynamic and get to talking about how it isn't fair.

I'll be damned if I walk into a trap that I know is a trap and then start complaining about how things would be different if a white person walked into it instead.

:francis:
Let's not spin this into a thread promoting the merits of soft shoeing now.

Companies are protective of their image. Look at that Apple executive Tony Blevin. If Morant was being asked to do more than his white colleagues, I'd be calling foul.

We live in an unfair and unjust system, Ja, however, is worth 200 million dollars and is simply being asked to not get on the internet behaving recklessly with firearms. He was just given a pass for the same infraction two months ago.

I'm not promoting "soft shoeing", I'm promoting the idea that we stop pretending that we live in an equal society and then getting upset when we get unequal outcomes. That's insanity.

A lot of Black people hate the truth…

Lebron came in the league at 18

Kobe came in the league at 18

As well as other young brothers and they mind was set on basketball and when off the court yeah they might have been doing young men shyt with partying and chasing women, but dudes didn’t hustle backwards trying to be gangsters back in Akron or Philly…

Ja just like Chris brown have issues with themselves about how others might view them if they keep that clean boy image like Russell Wilson

And I’d bet my life Kobe and Lebron both owned firearms. They just weren’t recklessly waving em around on camera like Kodak Black or some shyt

Ja gon get it right. It’s okay to root for the young bul. I love his game. Pretending flashing blickys to NBA youngboy when you’re a star NBA player is appropriate behavior and shouldn’t be shut down immediately is the most tone death shyt I’ve ever seen from nikkas though. I know some people lack self awareness but damn

Most of the Black Community have taken on a Single Mother ideology. No one should judge or critique us no matter what do or say. No matter how we carry ourselves and the decisions with make, we should defended and be revered as Queens and Kings no matter what. .

And if you disagree you're just a c0-0-n and sellout Tom. :yeshrug:
And we hate the word "accountability". Wtf they think we are? Adults?:dahell:

It makes perfect sense but nobody wants to say why out loud

There are very few ways society rewards black men. One of those rewards happens to be displays of violence and violent intent

Ja wants nikkas to look at him the way they look at their favorite rappers

I've made multiple posts over the last few years about how and why a lot of the suburbs have turned into 2 story house hoods since the early 2000s but them posts get crickets every time:pachaha:

This shyt BEEN going on way before Ja
Exactly. It's way deeper than the typical shyt that's said. At least since the early 90s this has been an issue. All because that segment of black culture was glorified and popularized in mainstream media. Music videos, TV shows, everywhere. Purposefully

It's a domino effect. It wasn't only the white suburban kids who wanted to be "cool". Black people in those upper middle class and higher environments suffer worse because we don't have the privilege of doing this with no real repercussions. And it's been like this ever since

Are you retarded?

I'm not condoning Ja Morant's behaviour. I'm saying that you should not use the condemnation of his actions to justify soft shoeing.

We don't need to hold ourselves to unreasonably high standard to see that he is fukking up. By basic standards what he is doing is unacceptable.

I'm not suggesting we hold ourselves to unreasonable standards. I'm suggesting that we live in reality.

Nah, B. If he were out hunting with a big ass rifle listening to country music folks would be calling him a Great American.
Under analysis this is not the hill you want to die on breh

Let's assume your premise is true. Even if it is the context betrays you.

Showing off a gun as a hunter, assuming your kill will be used for food is a world of difference from flashing a pistol while YB is playing because the intent of shyt like this is displaying "I'll kill one of these nikkas" energy

You wanna die on that hill?

2nd amendment.
:yeshrug:
Guns are tools. Used for hunting. Also used for defending yourself against opps.

In both scenarios the gun is being used legally for its intended purpose.

The problem isn’t Ja, the problem is America’s gun-obsessed culture.

I’m not gonna let people pick and choose which elements of the gun culture they deem acceptable.

Don’t blame Ja, blame Thomas Jefferson and them nikkas for writing that trash ass amendment.
