Teams would rather lose with their lily white QB's than have a real chance at winning. Kaepernick has one the highest selling NFL jersey's how is he a liability?
I honestly don't think that's it though.

Many of these teams have received threats from sponsors and fans that will drop them if he is on a roster....I think the Giants GM alluded to this a month ago or so.

Like it or not, any team that signs him today, tomorrow or whenever...will be bringing attention to themselves...the controversy will divide people.

You are going to lose people on one side of the isle with this. Is it worth the risk? Or do you just leave it alone and get some no namer who doesn't bring the issue to the press and the locker room?

This is all grassroots level stuff.

:why: did anyone actually watch the segment or are the people in this thread just mimicking someone elses response to it? The Ravens owner was pretty much on the money.

And Ray made some solid points...throughout all of this, I have yet to see or hear anyone disagree that Kaep has the ability to land a roster spot on a team somewhere...hell, he could probably start on atleast 3-4 different teams.EVERYONE has pretty much agreed with that...whether it's Ray Lewis on UD or Will Kane on FT....

BUT it's obvious that this isn't just about ability....it's about risk to the brand name...nothing more, nothing less. And from the business perspective...Kaep's controversy outweighs his talent and/or ability. Teams don't believe that a backup 2nd or 3rd string QB is worth the chance of any negative blow back...it's really just that simple.
I watched it and when they rebutted his claim we need to see who put us in best position to win with so you think mallet a better qb than Colin he was juelzing all over the place. Then they talked about the bums the signed st qb and the end and pretty much showed they were right the owner was doing it for show

I hope he goes at SAS one day.

On First Take today SAS said Kap is being black balled for his protest and owners don't want to sign him because they want to send a message to the other black players in the league.

SAS is slick and never goes full c00n. He tries to play both sides so he can get his money from the white establishment while not alienating black people entirely.

We did watch the video and the statements still stand, Ray going in on black on black crime was ridiculous and served no purpose.

Mara did say that he recieved the most emotional emails ever concerning the signing of Kaepernick. I believe these included season ticket holders.

But I think a Kaepernick signing could bring a hellova of more fans to the team he signs. But is it worth losing season ticket holders and sponsors? Will the new fans replace the revenue of the potential lost of season ticket holders?

Like I said...I've watched the discussion on multiple channels with multiple analysts speaking on it, and I have yet to hear anyone deny that he has the talent and the ability to land a spot somewhere.

That's pretty much universally agreed with across the table. But this is also a business...and the business risk to teams is what is keeping him off anyone's roster imo.

I live in ny...and I could have easily seen him starting on the Jets....what I can't see is the fans and sponsors embracing them....they are a heavily supported "First Responders" organization. You have tons of cops (at all levels...federal, State, and Local) and firefighters and others who operate as a fraternity who put money in the team's pockets through sponsorship's....they also have a ton of fans in those professions who are season ticket holders.

There would have been a lot of blow back putting him on there. I think they would have lost a lot of money up front based on just having his name on the depth chart.

All this drip on me
It's crazy how post-NFL career Shannon Sharpe and Ray Lewis have morphed into people who are completely opposite of one another on the 'keeping it real' spectrum.

Never really was a huge fan of Shannon Sharpe the football player, but man homie is probably the realest brother in sportsbroadcasting game right now and unapologetically enjoys making cac sports fans uncomfortable.:salute:

Meanwhile, I was a huge fan of Ray Lewis the football player, but this nikka has been outed as one of the biggest shoe-shining c00ns in the game.:snoop:

Mara did say that he recieved the most emotional emails ever concerning the signing of Kaepernick. I believe these included season ticket holders.

But I think a Kaepernick signing could bring a sleuth of more fans to the team he signs. But is it worth losing season ticket holders and sponsors? Will the new fans replace the revenue of the potential lost of season ticket holders?

thats what its all about,Ray talking about "we" as if he really has a say so that trumps what the money says.....he doesnt think the risk of losing that money is worth signing a Kaep he may really not need to play.

really had the nerve to say the owners shouldnt care about what happens in the black community, when they have teams full of black players who you claim are like "family",who obviously care just like Colin, whether they protested or not.....the league sure dont mind making them wear pink for a month behind breast cancer though:martin:

Yep they have to keep some credibility of being "controlled opposition" so occasionally they let the folks say something that will be truthful, I think today Fox let Shannon do that with Ray.
