Singleton had the right direction but he said during filming he caught all kinda well from the other producers about the script..Notice they had all kinda corny shyt in there like "it's my duty to please that booty" c'mon lol Shot sounded like the white guys read a lost 70's comic book on that one...the best way to.go.would be not to cast anybody well known just to have somewhere fresh to start from like Gordon Parks did in the og...the most important will be to run thru thru the script to weed out any cornball shyt 'cause a lot of movies made these days tend to forget that insultin peoples game lol

That point and time in NY in that early 1970s era is hard to reproduce.

I hope it's set in the 70s. I don't think Shaft in 2015 NYC works. Who still hires private eyes like that? I know they exist but are they still solving crimes or just catching cheating spouses expecially with this social media climate. No Idris because "Luther" is pretty much Shaft in London...
