I was watching that George Lucas interview where he was talking about how noone wanted to market Red Tails because it was an all black cast and I was looking at the cast for Prince of Persia and the main cast were all Caucasian.
Another thing I notice is the black man STILL dies first in the movies and theirs always ONE black man in most of these Hollywood productions. For example:
Look at this poster
Ludacris is the only black man not an extra in the WHOLE CAST.
Seriously
is up with this racism? They hardly even cast Asians and Indians in their films either.
Then when a guy like Tyler Perry comes along, who seemed to have potential of making great black films, they turn him into goddamn Stepin Fetchit and have him make a bunch of minstrel shows. I just dont understand why they keep perpetuating this same kind of racism in big budget film. It makes me think: Are these white men still afraid of black men? After all the evil they've done, how far back in years they've set black people and all the boundaries, how are they still so reluctant to add two black stars to a film? To me it feels like the only reason they even put a black actor in the film is to not catch any heat. I'm not satisfied with just one black, hispanic, asian, or indian in a film. Thats ridiculous. If anything I want to see a movie of ONLY Black, Hispanic, Indian, and Asian actors and see where that takes them. Asians have made some of the greatest films Ive ever seen yet to see more Asian actors and directors getting work.
On the other hand, maybe this is a good thing. Hollywood is fading while the great filmakers that are still around still make great films. I guess Hollywood movies are still more niched for those typical Americans who dont really pick up on the subliminals. The bottom-line is: I'm tired of seeing Brendan Fraser and Nicolas Cage constantly getting work while there are some great actors of other races and ethnicities trying to get work.
