House music was snatched by cacs when it became essential to gay culture, primarily in NYC with their dance competition. For historical insight into that time period, watch the documentary "Paris Is Burning". Soon, cacs began releasing products like this:

(note that Mclaren also tried to culture vulture Hip Hop with "Buffalo Gals" along with other musical artforms)

I've read somewhere that after the video below came out, we were largely done with House Music. Although, there was some House hits after 1990...

A post 1990 house hit (but it's more techno than House, I think)

Plus @Poitier the big difference

Trap is 3×4
House techno is 4×4.

The snare on trap hits at every 3rd note.
And is usually 130-140bpm.

Most house to techno is the note on the second note. And between 110-135 bpm.

Alot of techno (really tech house is more popular) is at 120-130 bpm.

Yo @King Jove what Ive been seeing recently here in NYC with this white hipster nerds and house/techno is disgusting. They really turning this into some alt right bullshyt.
they straight up took the soul, funk, and groove out of it.

like it's almost a completely different genre now. sort of like how cacs remixed "trap music" and turned it into this bullshyt :hhh:

Dawg. Im a producer and DJ of 20 year I dont need a history a lesson.
And I know house and hip-hop are analogous.

You really think this...

And this sound alike?

Doesn't have to "sound alike"
The recording techniques come from the same exact place if traced back
