Community College would solve a lot of these woes, but people just don't go. Why, is beyond me.

Republicans in Washington are not in favor of limited government. They just use that bullshyt line as cover to vote against certain things that Dems favor.
I agree. Republicans should be much more ideologically consistent.
The problem is that there's not enough good jobs to go around. That's why you have people with degrees either working at a Starbucks near you or are unemployed.You could his everyone in America an engineering degree and you would still have tons of people working in low wage crap job or not working period

Anyone that thinks this is a bad thing from a national perspective is an idiot. The entire concept of the program needs to be remodeled. Passing the costs back onto the middle class is not a good look, and this legislation was simply gonna kick shyt down the road.
However, I am getting more and more worried that we are heading towards a system in which if you basically cant pay up front you cant pay at all, and college is no longer a ticket to the middle class.
This is basically a glorified political get out the young vote move, and its genius. They knew this wouldnt pass, and the headline would be "gop blocks student loan reform", and people wouldnt bother witht the details.

It just puzzles me how loan forgiveness is somehow seen as so ridiculous and implausible. When the very concept of it was just just done for banks who actually got into that position by essentially committing fraud.
Yall act like they said they are forgiving people's loans....it's refinancing them to lower rates, not making shyt free...
That's what I read too. Refinancing any other loan is cool and so damn common.......... but a student loan is off limits?

Because after some finish community college they continue there education. My girl was debt free when she did her under grad, it wasn't until she went to graduate school that she racked up 40k in student loansCommunity College would solve a lot of these woes, but people just don't go. Exponential increases in tuition costs from the CC level to the University level are why people are saddled with CRUSHING debt and are complaining about payments and balances. CC helps to keep costs manageable. Take the total cost of 4 years of school literally from ~$70,000 to ~$35,000
Where did she go to finish her degree at? I did the same thing, and I worked all throughout school and saved my money during, and put of all of it toward tuition for when I transferred, stayed in state, did not stay in a dorm(that's $10k/year right there), and had no student loans when I finished.
And even still, 40k debt as an investment that will return you $40k+/year is not a bad look. Depending on what her degree was in.

this is defnintely true, but give me a politician who at least has the balls to put it out there. like seriously, republicans responses to "well if you dont like this, then what should we do" is constantly "it was smart move politically, they predicted (correctly) that it will get presented by the media as

Don't sleep on Elizabeth Warren and her newfound "middle class crusader" steez either. She is one of the worst types of liberals out there.
