not only should a college education be a human right in the u.s in 2014 but you should be compensated for pursuing one

And every Friday will be no school day. There will be an ice cream party instead. Vote for me for 6th Grade President. Homework will also be banned.

:mjlol: People defending debt peonage.

Higher Learning.

Yeah...its just sadism clumsily disguised as some sort of attempt at socio-political and economic pragmatism. Its coded in the DNA of conservatism for those of that persuasion to want the worst for people of color and those of lessor means. Period. It may strike as overly simplified analytic on my part, but you see this phenomenon play out again and again. This bill is commonsense and reasonable and it helps, in a small way, to address a mushrooming crisis, but certain people will oppose it just "because".

College tuition rates have risen 1,300% in the last 30 years or so, but who's counting?

Oh really? $1 trillion in student debt improves society?

I have no issue with the refinance I have issue with the fact that Obama's was going to limit paychecks to only 10% deductions which would delay payments into the plan which will cause a further burden.

Actually no. Education isn't a right. It's a privilege. You're not owed anything. Not by me. Not by the government. If you can't afford it then you can't go. That simple.

Very true.

This. As someone who struggled to pay off over 20k in student loans, fukk you you're on your own.
I'm down to 43k left from 60+...I just treat it as a basic bill instead of looking at it as the animal it is to be honest. :manny:

If I knew the general public was subsidizing my education I would've gone to a top tier school. Instead I made a choice to only go where I could afford without accumulating too much debt. I owe no person or institution money because of my smart choice. Why the fukk would I want to pay for the next mans degree?

you wen't to bu...

Well, GOP just gave the Dems something they can use to rally young voters against them (again) and get them to vote in the midterms. :heh:
Like clockwork

Been telling cats that the GOP is done for the next decade or two but they just won't listen. The entire party needs to be cleansed of itself before it can be taken seriously.

Hillary is going to moonwalk into that White House in 2016

"Obviously if you can't pay, don't go to college. My parents, righteous as they are, had the foresight to plan ahead and save for my future. Don't tax me for your lazy, stupid family. The biggest problem with education of course is that people think that they deserve it. If you can't compete and get a scholarship, obviously you should work a minimum wage (which we will not negotiate) job for 20 years and just save up instead. That's fiscal responsibility. Our country can't handle your debt anymore, so stop robbing peter to pay paul. After all we already pay for your food and your parents healthcare, how much more do you need? You're lazy, greedy, and you have no ambition like me. I'm getting a startup going right out of college (so what if my parents help out. thats OUR money) and I'm gonna retire early because i'm smarter than you and work harder"
