It’s unfortunate they went down this path :francis:

Sega's operating profit in the past fiscal year (April 1, 2023 – May 31, 2024) fell by 86.7%, and the company posted a net loss of 6.65 billion yen (over $41 million). The losses are significant considering Sega had made a net profit of 11.488 billion yen in the year before (source: Gamebiz).

It doesn’t mention anything about losing money from Xbox deals in the ”article“.:mjtf:

Stop the propaganda :unimpressed:

Seems signing marketing deals with xbox hasn’t been a lucrative endeavor for them, despite launching a bunch of highly rated games.

That is pure speculation with no basis in fact. That link you posted talked heavily about a restructure, which means particular costs (or even related assets on the balance sheet) were written off, or expensed during the period. That will will reduce operating profit. C'mon, now.

It doesn’t take a genius to see that the moment they started taking marketing deals with microsoft that they started losing money

A japanese brand tying their biggest franchises to a failing hardware brand = $$$$?
