The Sega attempt was basically known when MS announced that trash ass “Partnership” with Sega a while back. shyt reeked of “Damn, they rejected our acquisition offer, but at least they gave us this trash ass “Partnership”
Like Nintendo, Sega probably slapped their hand away in disgust
Not really for the vast majority consolidation doesn't matter to them at all, and to you sony stan it really doesn't matter either. The only time yall get worried about consolidation vocally is when Playstation loses content instead of locking something down or acquiring it.
But your average person doesn't care about gaming like that, as long as they can buy they 2-4 games a year they could care less who owns the IP and how many IP's they own.
And know consolidation is coming no matter how you slice it, based on what the Big 3 are doing. MS is the most healthy place for consumers, gamers and developers.

It's crazy when you really think about it. They achieved everything they set out to do with the Xbox One and all they had to do was create the illusion that you're getting something for "free." People have dropped their guards completely.

There is nothing anti competitive about trying to stay in the game, and being smart about it.
For years yall been saying MS should just buy xyz now you see them making moves and yall like

-Just make great 1st party games and win
-Just get exclusive games and win
-Just build up your own studios, but they can't have any struggles

The results would be the same one would just be a waste of money for MS but if they 70 billion dollar exclusive gamed sony out of the picture the market would still be consolidated. It's actually healthier for the market them doing it this way, MS with 5 or so more acquisitions is better than MS every year spending 100 million on exclusive game deals sucking games up off other platforms at random from every and any publisher and developer.... like sony attempts to do now. That would be a long 70 billion dollar wait for Sony and Nintendo...
