The newer ones will be Switch compatible.

The patnership with Retro Bit happened way before this console, iirc, so they just to make due with what they had

People bought NES and SNES Classics, people buy retro games to play on retro consoles or current systems. Alot of those people want quick and easy pick up and play without the need of searching and downloading roms to play on an emulator on their phone, tablet or computer.
Also things like this usually have easy to navigate UI.

Basically it's more convenient (also it supports the company. As a Sega fanboy, I would love to see them strive and continue to produce content that I like)

Yup.

I've had emulators get up on PCs so my girl and I could play old games, and she doesn't fukk with it, ever.

But that SNES Classic? That shyt got her sending me texts like "Your plans tonight better not be anything other than hitting this green switch palace with me in Mario World. :ufdup:"

Emulators aren't getting that kind of enthusiasm from the super casuals.
