I've been waiting for TJ's 3pt shot to fall back down to earth but after 20+ games he's still going strong. :ehh:

Defense in the Clippers game and last night were 100% better. Maybe Igor isnt a lost cause already.

Suns need a real GM asap. Poor communication during trades is embarrassing. I don't trust James Jones to do what's best for the Suns. So far his moves are:

The Jamal Crawford signing

Giving Tyson Chandler an early buyout so he can go to the Lakers

Trying to move Ariza to the Lakers before Sarver stepped in

Agreeing to a trade without making it clear which Brooks is getting traded

Eh seemed like Grunfwld and Grizz miscommunication and they got a similar deal done, Suns did nothing wrong on this one imo (other than trade for Austin Rivers)

Idk, what yall think of Oubre?

Both sides are doing damage control to save face. Gambo was going hard for the Suns, Woj was going hard for the Grizzlies. I don't know who is lying, I just know there was horrible communication in James Jones first trade and once again the team looked like a joke. I'm sure Sarver was heavily involved in this mess too.

As far as the trade is concerned, I see it as lateral move. Ariza wanted out so he got moved for some expirings. Austin Rivers is trade filler, he's not a point guard. He might even bring some drama when the team is losing like he did with the Wizards.

Oubre is a nice piece, but the last thing the Suns needed was another young SF to develop. I don't see him getting payed by the Suns when Warren, Bridges, and Jackson are all locked in. The majority of the Suns salary cap will be used for a PG and Sarver is not going over the cap for Oubre.

Speaking of point guards, and reasons to hate Sarver:

Yahoo is now part of Oath

Veto your GM's big trade to land a potentially great point guard, then fire your GM a few weeks later for not getting a point guard, brehs: beli:

Yeah initial reaction is James Jones / Puppetmaster Sarver seem to have actually taken a W, Phoenix got the best of this trade. I can see why they were trying for Dillion Brooks instead for roster reasons, but Oubre is another talented forward to add to the heap. And while you think its a logjam at SF, keep in mind

1. Ariza's absence will provide a lot of minutes. He was the starter and played the most of all the wings.
2. Having a team full of 6'6"+ interchangable wing forwards is literally their plan, and has been the plan pretty much since the 3 pg thing died. Fired GM McDonough wanted to draft Shai and Sarver overruled him. So McDonough was gonna have the whole team at least 6'6/6'7 with Igor's Euro championship-winning motion offense and all mobile, switchable defenders, even the bigs. On paper seemed like a good plan for the modern NBA but apparently Sarver knew better.

Plus trading Ariza feels like literally no hit to Phoenix at all. Internally, the team had been discussing the possibility of an Ariza buy-out since the first week of the season. Not only are we on our first win streak without him, but he was actually pretty trash for the Suns all season, save a few standout games. But most of the time he looked really bad and it was odd how the tentative inexperience of the young players seemed to be contagious to Trevor. Rather than a calm and steadying presence on the team you'd expect from that "veteran leadership" intangible, the opposite occurred. Instead we saw Ariza make rookie-type mistakes all season - throw the ball to nobody out of bounds, airball wide open 3s, called for travel after a headfake - it was like he was possessed by the spirit of Dragan Bender. Plus he missed a good amount of games for "personal reasons" that were never explained. Seemed like he checked out early on. Im sure he'll be better in a more comfortable environment back in Wash, but he pretty much gave us nothing.

Ultimately Oubre is insurance, both in case of injury and also if a trade for a Jackson or a Warren may present itself. If he kills it then Im sure the Suns will make him a healthy offer to continue with the team going forward like they plan on doing with Richaun Holmes who's been very good backing up Ayton and even finishing a lot of games. Worse case scenario Oubre doesnt fit at all and they give him the Elfrid Payton sayonara and its exactly where they would have been with Ariza anyway.

Like I said, I think Oubre is a good piece, but money and egos will eventually become an issue managing all of these wings. It's cool now because everyone is young and mostly on rookie contracts, but if they live up to their potential, they are going to want to get paid and start. Out of Bridges, Oubre, Warren, and Jackson, the Suns would be asking 2 of them to spend their prime years off the bench long term. I like the talent, I just don't think it's sustainable.

Things are good for now, but the wing logjam is something that will have to be dealt with in the future.

Easily TJ's worst game of the season

Josh had a good game, led the comeback in the 4th...and now TJ and Mikal play like trash

Seems like we need everyone to play well to win most nights.

Defense went back to shyte unfortunately after they'd been playing much better on that end

At least we came back, no more blowouts

Great win, didnt expect this one. Good to finally have a comeback that actually succeeds in a win.

If Oubre could play like this every night we would have another superstar. Of course he doesnt which is why hes just a talented role player. But breh is still young af, just 23 :wow:

Assuming he continues like this this season, I would lock him up. How much would yall pay him? :nunes:
