The hip hop scene is HEAVILY slept on in the northwest. I listen to this super dope late night radio show called Sunday Night Sound Session that comes on kube 93. DJ Hyphen & J.Moore are the hosts and they play dope records from all over the place. Not that top 40 bullshyt hip hop/r&b , the REAL shyt.
They've put me onto so many dope artist the last 5 years. Check out theaudacityofdope.com for their shows.
In the past they've played Drake waaaay before he was really in the game among many other artist. They usually get exclusive premieres also that artists personally drop off.
J.Moore stays dropping gems about everything from hip-hop to life in general, really well spoken cat.

You have Microsoft and Amazon headquartered in Seattle.....with tens of thousands of employees in that city.
Google also has a huge office up there (although not HQ).
Not to mention thousands of small Web development and .NET shops in Seattle, place is is ripe for young tech heads looking for employment.
