Seriously I remember around thanksgiving or christmas wallmart was having food drives for it's workers at their stores.

Republicans/libtards complain about snap and all those other things but if they just create appropriate wage laws there wouldn't be so many families living in poverty and needing all of these benefits in the first place.

25% of the workforce is on govt. assistance, 52% of fast food workers.....Does anybody understand the economic implications here? Socialism for big business, and "free market" for us peons. We are subsidizing these wages! Just pass the buck, and go on Fox news and complain about mooching blacks. Its the American way!

damn what kind of shytty major after college was it that you got such a struggle wage ...i'm guessing it wasn't a job from your major but just something you took because your industry wasn't hiring people with no experience because of the recession
Typical Rethug :camby:

I guess I should have pulled myself up by my bootstraps :pacspit:

Nah but I majored in business...Legal Studies. I was a paralegal when I started out. I wanted to do law school but...ugh...I dunno. I did my MBA instead. I work for the city now so if I want to they'll more or less pay for it if I get into NYU or Pace or Fordham but at this point it seems like a worthless endeavor.

I'd prefer removing the min wage, and instituting stronger safety nets to support those below the poverty line. Similar to what is used in the Nordic countries.
:manny:

in the long run, its a compromise that would be better for all parties involved.

Ed so what is the answer to this issue? People complain about all this welfare being handed out but are doing nothing to solve it.
I dont think that line of conversation has anything to do with "all this welfare"

He said
This helps small businesses :childplease:

McDonalds and Starbucks franchises won't be on every damn corner due to lower profit margins and mom + pops can fill those niches
And i am just blown away at how erroneous this is...and EVEN if true...which it is NOT...there is a major disconnect on how a 15 wage would HELP mom and pops and HURT big biz...its so incredibly wrong...i didnt even know where to begin.

The he decided he didnt want to hear it so i moved on.

and you want socialism for everyone, while the other side wants "free market" for everyone...:patrice:

I think we all want the same thing, just in a different way, and should stop painting the other side as evil/wrong. :manny:

They'll take care of that by lowering the income requirements so those majority no longer qualify for the assistance.
True progress.:snoop:

You did good you got an okay paying job while you got your masters. Paralegal is a dead end secretary job though but its the path people take while they are going to law school

And you probably won't get an adequate return on the law school investment anytime soon since you seem like your already into a career a career change would most likely have to stem only because your just passionate about law and thats what you want to do in life
