It's sounding like the creator of the show just wanted to move on to something else. The show does great ratings for HBO.

i been away to long, my feeling died.
They shouldn't do another season if it's going to be only 8 episodes. They might as well end it on a high note because there are 2 many plots that won't be covered of rushed in a short season . You have Gillian , William , Margaret , Sally and Eli . Those are just the minor guys who play big roles. Then you have Nucky, Capone , Lucky and the rest a short season will ruin the show unless every episode is 2 hours long. Might as just cancel it now or have a Dexter season next year.

Bittersweet. Last thing i want is for THIS show to get cheesy or stale. I imagine they'll jump between years in season 5 a bit?
Personally, I'd find it impossible for them not to go to 1928 where Rothstein is killed, 1929 with the Massacre, 1931 where Masseria is killed...but we'll see.
And some of yall are acting like we were gonna get to watch Meyer Lansky get old & become the boss he was when he died? Did yall expect full biographies of all these guys?

I mean, I'm happy they get an ending and I'm happy it won't have a chance to run itself into the ground....like Showtime does with their big shows.
But shyt....Season 4 was the best yet by a mile. And now we only get one more.
