Almost a perfect hit/block. But he pretty clearly ducked his head to use his helmet.

I can see someone's point of view if they were to say he led wit the helmet. But all i know is back in the day that was a perfectly legal hit and was just part of the game. It's a shame that they p*ssying the game up. These cats know what is at stake when they play. Ain't nothing supposed to be cute about football. That this hit is even a debate shows u where the game is headed. Eventually they gone be playing two hand touch out there.

:childplease: Stop it bruh. You sound like you repeating what you're hearing on tv. No one has ever died on the field from a damn hit. Like I said before, damn near every tackle that is made, both players helmets touch. That was a clean hard hit. Sean Lee was is full sprint to clean Russell Wilson's clock and he got checked.

I never hear NHL fans complain about the hits that goes on in that league. Have you ever been close to the field of a NFL or Collegiate game; these guys are fukking monsters. These guys are gladiators of our time. Stop feeling sorry for them.

Guess I have a modicum of human decency, my bad. I'm not feeling sorry for them, but I'm not ready to treat them like disposable entertainment either.

And in hockey, player's tend to avoid using their helmets as weapons because they aren't anywhere near as protective as in football.

It's not about their helmet's touching as much as its about the players aiming the top of their heads at their target. Have you ever heard the phrase "see what you hit"? It's been kind of misunderstood, but the idea is to avoid players initiating contact with their helmet, like Tate did.

There's no reason he can't put his shoulder in Lee's chest and deliver the same kind of :krs:-inducing hit.

Dude, Tate hit him in the chest and immediately stopped Lee's momentum on a dime, so every part of Lee's body that didn't get impacted went forward i.e. his head. That's why I say a still fram shot does not represent the actual block/hit.

I get banning players aiming at another's players head but this just wasn't the case.

I didn't say he aimed at Lee's head, and I agree that the snapshot makes it look worse that it was...

...but Tate definitely lowered HIS HEAD and used HIS HELMET to initiate the contact.

Like I said, it was ALMOST a perfect hit.

Block was 100% legal. He got fined for showing out after the hit. NFL shouldn't have fined him though.

Never want someone to see someone die but you and i know football is a violent painful sport. And it's a way to hit someone to hurt them and a way to hit someone to injure them for life. What Golden Tate did was what all players are taught to do as youths. Block the fukk outta the D and when u get a chance wallop their ass. U know Sean Lee would have did it to Tate if given the chance. And this is coming from a diehard Cowboys fan.
