Being bi-polar isn't an excuse it's a legit reason someone would do something like this. An excuse would be something that would actually excuse his behavior like provocation or self-defense. People need to stop dismissing mental illness as an "excuse", its a serious issue that leads to many tragic events. But...This dude not about to get off cause he had an episode off his meds. Many people that commit these crimes have serious mental issues but it never excuses them. Its either prison or a mental asylum. Pleading insanity just gets you in an asylum which can actually be a downgrade from prison depending on where.
