The guys u mentioned were elite and valuable to their teams lol
The media only care about what is gonna get ratings and sell papers. People asked for it. They gave it to them. Now nobody gonna care about this
and not one time did I hear any of y’all say is she ok? All y’all care is “but what about...”. That clearly show y’all don’t give a fukk either
Ijs
Now you're just deflecting
The whole point of bringing attention to the situation is to put pressure on the courts and the league to properly handle the situation. Make sure that this doesn't happen to the victim again or he doesn't move on and do this to someone else down the road.
How is the story not "sexy" enough to be reported as you say? There's all the elements. Race, gender inequality, etc. All that plays a factor in the story. It's a lay up, but they didn't want to cover it because it's a bad look. When the races are reversed it's the opposite. Fame isn't even important when the story gets reported.
For example, let's keep the comparisons on the same playing field:
Ray MacDonald and Reuben Foster making the rounds for their cases. Neither were household names versus this case and the Josh Brown situation (a kicker). The NFL and the Giants worked together to silence his ex-wife even tho she filed 20 complaints on him (one of them happened to be at the Pro Bowl and they attempted to simply get her another room in order for her to be quiet). We didn't hear about the story til MONTH's after the fact and years from the previous situations.
Kobe vs. Ben Roethlisberger. After Kobe retired in 2016 you had several news outlets bringing up the Colorado case even tho it happened in 03 and the case itself is muddy. Then after he passed away they bring it up again in the media. shyt, Gayle King interviewed Lisa Leslie and tried to get Lisa to talk about even tho that wasn't the time, place or person to talk about that. They just wanted to be shady. Ben Roethlisberger has multiple rape charges on his resume, yet not one peep from the media. One player has his transgressions being brought up many years after the fact and causes think pieces while another had his buried the moment it happened and gets to have his career played out in peace.
Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor. The draw of boxing vs the biggest draw of the UFC. Mayweather had his situation with his ex-GF, but he went to jail and served time for it. This made national news. And they still talk about it to this day. So many people say that's the reason they dislike him outside his cockiness. They've been mentioning it every fight since but it really was obvious during the Pacquiao and McGregor lead up. Can't forget when Cari Champion had him on SC and she tried to grill him about it during the McGregor fight media session nonetheless. ESPYs voted Rhonda as Fighter of the Year over him to spite him and they took the time to throw shade saying "what's it like losing to a girl for once?" and tryna say Rhonda can beat him. Yet, Conor as had his own situations for beating up an old man and he now has a rape charge over his head. He literally just fought this past weekend, but did the UFC or ESPN make any mention of it during the preflight hype? Nope. They just spent 99% of the time hyping up his comeback and the potential rematch vs Khabib. Speaking of that, even after throwing bottles in the press room vs Nate Diaz and smashing a bus window with a guardrail vs Khabib with fighters on board, Conor is still in the good Grace's with the UFC and ESPN. They don't mention shyt.
There's a huge difference when it comes to reporting and it's not even the sports media. It's the media in general.
