I still have a few eps of it left but I don't think Scottie is portrayed as "emotional" or weak or anything of the sort. If anything he's portrayed as the essential partner MJ needed to be the GOAT and as underappreciated as any player ever.

Meanwhile, back in the world where men are men, Payton said:

“That’s what I expect out of Mike, because I would have said the same thing. I’m not going to admit to nothing, I’m not going to admit to someone that D’d me up. I will always tell you at any time in my career, nobody gave me problems.... So you know that is just the way the game goes.”

Gary Payton Reacts To Michael Jordan Laughing At Him On The Last Dance

I swear some of yall are soccer moms:pachaha:Not a masculine bone in your body.

"Michael was mean. He shouldnt have done that:sadbron:"

Payton wouldve done the same thing:dead:

Elite offensive players thinks nobody can guard them.

Instead of giving the defensive player credit, they will just say they had a bad game

The only thing that probably would have pleased Scottie is if they didn’t touch on any of it at all.

You can’t really spin some of his behavior at the time in a positive way.

Especially when he still says he would do the same thing today.

It's not surprising. If I was Pippen I would of been mad too. But I've long ago peeped game how Scottie feels about Michael. Correct me if I wrong but I believe Pippen has said Durant, Lebron and Kobe are better than him. In all seriousness aside Pippen has a right to be mad. People has said well all the things portrayed about Pippen were true. And that's true. Here is the thing though. It's like MJ and/or the producer went out of their way to find the three or four worst Pippen moments and put them in the film and not put any of Scottie positives in the doc. Yet they could find time to give love to Kerr and Paxson, I'm not mad they did. But they were role players who contributed much less to winning than Scottie did. Rodman got his shine despite being a bit unfocused, no knock on Rodman he was a great defensive player. But yet none of those guys were as good or important as Pippen and none of them played for the Bulls as long as Pippen did. The way Pippen was portrayed had to been done on purpose IMO. Had to. For a guy that good at a little bit of everything for so long and basically everything about him in the doc is negative. Hmm. My spidery senses are going off big time. My only guess is that MJ/ and/or his producers or whoever did what a lot of fans do, which is put other players down to try to make their favorite look better. Maybe the thought was we can let Kerr and Paxson get some shine because everybody knew they were only role players anyway. Maybe they said everybody knew Dennis was crazy/unstable so we will let him get a little bit of shine. But Pippen we can't be giving him any credit because that would detract from MJ greatness. Just a guess but that's my guess.

A fair and accurate portrayal of Scottie would of been as a guy who was so versatile, who could score but he was content to only score when needed and otherwise focus on defense and run the offense. Part of what made the Bulls so successful was Scottie wasn't trying to compete with MJ for the limelight. He was content in his own role. What about Pippen guarding Magic in the 1991 finals? When Phil put Pippen on Magic that change the whole series. Even Phil said in many ways Pippen was more important to getting the best out of the team than MJ was. Obviously MJ was a better player than Pippen but there is a reason Jordan never won without Pippen. So yeah I totatlly understand where Pippen is coming from.

Starting at 22:50 they touched a bit on the Pippen situation.

I'm curious in how a documentary centered around the 97-98 season should've ignored the fact that Scottie missed the first 34 games of the season because he delayed his rehab because he was unhappy with his contract and demanded a trade, seeing how that "unfairly" put him in a bad light:unimpressed:

If the Warriors went ahead with that documentary, we'd be having people complain that they shouldn't have included Draymond calling KD a bytch because it made him look bad:beli:

A documentary film is supposed to be educational.

The best ones combine the entertainment with the educational. That’s the difference between what you saw in school versus what you see on ESPN, but it’s supposed to be educational.

And your answer shows you didn’t learn anything :heh:

Sure, most us basketball fans knew a lot of it. And yes I did learn some things.

Didn’t know that Scottie missed a big chunk of the 98 season.

Didn’t know mikes dad was killed because he pulled into a rest stop.

Didn’t know Mike had a desire to quit even before 93.

There was a bunch of stuff, y’all just wanted some kind of dark dirt on MJ and were disappointed you got none.
