Damn shame:francis: these studios need to trust their directors. My expectations are considerably lower
and the shytll STILL be dope.

I don't know, I'm results oriented. While the MCU may never make a masterpiece of film making they also keep the quality to a certain standard. A producer is as important as a director especially someone with the overarching vision like Feige IMO.
I didn't say masterpiece but like Ant man this could turn out to just be good instead of getting the original Wright version. Dr. Strange is one of my favorite films and especially from a visual standpoint. That major set piece with him rewinding Hong Kong:ooh::ooh::ooh::ohlawd:By the way that certain standard hasn't always been phenomenal these films can be so much more.

Baby Driver sucked and the first Ant-Man is actually good IMO so let's not give him credit for automatically outdoing what was actually done.
And if I understand the Marvel making process correctly, Derrickson might not have had sole creative vision of the action sequences. But I do agree, I think Dr. Strange had some insanely dope ones.
Like I said, I don't think any Marvel movie is a 10/10 so you are right. But nothing has gone below a 6/10 either. Just my opinion. :hubie:

there’s always a push pull between studio and director. That story is as old as time. The problems really occur when you have a director with a clear vision and a strong voice that goes against what the studio had in mind or maybe is too far out on a limb for them. Doesn’t even mean it’s a bad idea.

For marvel, there’s something to be said for giving your director free rein and letting them have their voices. James Gunn and Ryan Coogler showed that even though I’m sure there were compromises there too because it’s a collaborative effort. But asking someone like Del Toro to come inside that system? That’s not going to work. Same with Wright. It’s different with James when he’s making his first big movie and Ryan when he’s still young and earning his fukk you clout. But guys like Edgar Wright and Del Toro are used to doing what they want when they want and Del toro has experiences with studios hurting his projects and he decided never to be in that situation again.

Same thing happened with Danny Boyle and Bond. Some people just need you to get out of their way to do their thing. Others don’t. But it’s better to know that going in

Clearly it won't be a 'Brother' you patriarchic swine, and 'Voodoo' is a racially insensitive moniker so the character will be turned into the feminist twitter approved version Sister Magic.

Can't lie, kinda feel the same.

Hoping they'll throw us a bone on either the XMen or Doom.
They will. I think all these movies tie into the X Men and F4.

There's suppose to be 2 new marvel characters in this. I think phase 4, introduces them and phase 5 goes all out like a soft reboot.

I don't know which directors did what movies but I know for sure that first Dr Strange movie was a top marvel IMO it was top 5. Hopefully they don't fukk it up because Dr Strange seems like a OP superhero.

I'm going to say it was scheduling. This was announced at San Diego Comic Con. The first movie was in 2016. It's going to be five years between getting a sequel. If they didn't want to do a horror movie then that shyt would have been hashed out by now. Derrickson did tweet something in December about how schedules impede art or some shyt. He already knew that he was doing a PG-13 movie. He knows his parameters. I wouldn't be surprised if the creative difference is that he wanted more time tell the story he wanted, which may have pushed it back from it's May 2021 release date. Disney said fukk you. We don't got time for your extra shyt when the shyt we got is already good:gucci:. And Derrickson was like I'm out :hubie:
