You're wrong. Majority of kids would have no trouble learning if they went to top tier schools, lived in excess and learned from educators who looked like them.

This is how I know you don't know shyt about elite schools or know anyone who went to them.

A great many of those kids are fukking retarded and are only there because of connections, not accolades.

Look at cats who end up running the world.

Most of them went to school and were absolute fukk UPS growing up. Straight C level students.

If you're not raised to value that shyt, then it won't matter.

and what the entire fukk have you been doing this whole time?

Come off that bullshyt. You're not the only intelligent person in this bytch.

And I disagree.

The fact that you're defending this shyt to the core makes it sound like its OBJECTIVELY true.

its not.

Accept this info and move on.

And I disagree. Call them anecdotes, but where I'm from, black success is the de rigeur so I can easily say that money/resources ain't everything. It helps, but its not everything.

Dude. this is just fukking false.

I am one of the kids you think doesn't even exist.

My parents NEVER had it, but they made me wanna get it.

Where did I say money is everything? I clearly stated resources and homogeneity of the learning institution are just as important. Parenting comes after those, ALWAYS. There are always outliers and they usually get celebrated and awarded tons of money to continue schooling.

I don't disagree. I just think resources/money/environment come before parenting style on the chain of command. People that put the parenting style first come off mad racist to me because it put's it squarely on the race/individual but the factors I listed shape the parenting style :yeshrug:

Thats because you're insecure as fukk honestly.

I told you about that caping shyt cause you wanna make it sound like whitey is pushing this "blacks ain't shyt narrative"

Parenting DOES matter, but since whites tend to have most of the money/status/resources, then its easier for you to push YOUR brand of "influence" when it comes to raising kids.

It works both ways

I went to NYU :why: I was one of the very small population who didn't come from a globalized recognized academy or school. I did well on my SATs but comparatively to those who went to the better institutions, my scores was shyt. I know for a fact if I went to a better institution, not public, NOT IN THE SOUTH, if my parents could afford tutors and if I was taught by BLACK EDUCATORS, there would be NO gap in our aptitude test. None. Any measure of achievement would show this.

Again, this is why you're showing how little association you have to anyone who went to these academies growing up.

I know tons of these kids.

Black kids.

PARENTING is the source cause if they don't value it, then it won't matter if you give them the answers to that test.

Ok, parenting matters, however, if you asked me the best way to attack the achievement gap? I'd say top notch Black institutions with Black teachers and tutors. You think it's parenting but I'd say an effective educator can makeup for what is lacking in the home. You have to have Black educators to care about Black students. Parenting ain't gone stop us from living in the hood, stomach aching, guns going off every hour, overcrowded classrooms, no access to the Internet routinely, 1st edition textbooks way outdated, etc. In some cases it might but in most cases, it just won't. Even the affluent Blacks aren't going to be shown as much empathy by their White educators at a top academy.

I went to NYU :why:
.
I went to a top 20 school.

And?
I was one of the very small population who didn't come from a globalized recognized academy or school.
me too. Your point?

Most black kids I knew growing up went to a school that wasn't stellar either but we ALL raised the fukk up and are killing it out here...and we ain't really have resources like that...if at all.

I did well on my SATs but comparatively to those who went to the better institutions, my scores was shyt.
that sucks for you.

I know for a fact if I went to a better institution, not public, NOT IN THE SOUTH, if my parents could afford tutors and if I was taught by BLACK EDUCATORS, there would be NO gap in our aptitude test. None. Any measure of achievement would show this

But no where in here do you talk about how your parents raised you to value the education you inevitably received.

You think everyone who is anyone always starts out from 2nd base? Some people actually work to get where they are.

Yes. Resources matter but they don't tell the whole picture. Parenting is a strong part of that and if you wanna sit here and act like resources alone make or break you and thats ridiculous.

We disagree and it is what it is. You think it starts with parenting. I think if Black people could theoretically have top notch facilities with Black educators to teach our youth no gap would exist, irregardless of what goes on at home. Two different ideologies. I came from nothing. You sound like you always had it easy. We are looking at it through different prisms. Do you.

again, you're putting a band-aid over a bigger problem.

Black teachers? Eh.

Black institutions? Bigger eh.

The fact is this.

If you aren't motivated or inspired to GO AND GET IT, nothing will make it possible.

Having money/resources helps, but if you don't walk in from day-one with that goal, then you won't

My parents stopped helping me with homework after the 4th grade. I graduated 4th in my high school and had a 4.3 GPA.

The hell are you talking about dude? I didn't have money. I didn't have tutors. I just grinded that shyt out for my own purposes.

If kids aren't instilled with that or have parents who will put you on game, then nothing else matters.

funny how you say I had it easy but don't wanna give me credit for the work I did to create this space for myself.

Thats the sort of reluctance to change I'm talking about.

Its easier for you to point fingers at the shyt thats not immediately able to be changed and deflect from the obvious.

What is that child doing when he/she is at home for the other 16-17 hours of the day?

nikka you're an outlier. Kids spend more fukking time in school than they do at home M-F GET THE fukk OUT OF HERE.

I don't care.

Your data doesn't include any of the COUNTLESS fukk ups who go to these institutions and don't become shyt anyways.

You offer no solutions other than to tell the subhuman Black parents to value education and to go easy on their kids and ignore the homogeneity of education in this country and the socio-economic position of Blacks in this country. fukk out of here. The day we realize integrated education was the worst thing ever will be the day we close the achievement gap. I'm not talking about people like me and you who slip through the fukking cracks.
