Departed is a remake of infernal affairs which is chinese, Dredd isn't a remake of anything, just another adaptation of judge dredd. It just shares a similar narrative construct (floors in a building, getting to the top) with The Raid.

Your right my bad the raid is indonesian...but I think point still stands Asain movies can still be accepted by American audiences to some extent

I loved the raid 1+2. Heard good things tho never finished the dredd. Never attempted the death note remake b/c it looked cheesy. A good movie is a good movie.
