name another 1

only other 1 close would be 3k but he doesnt get legend status outside the south

ppl respect him all over

but he dont get legend status

I'm not even the biggest Outkast fan at all but people do play him world wide. When you say transcend I take that to mean gets play outside the south. Z-Ro gets play worldwide. as does K-Rino, Cee Lo obviously does too, DJ Premier goes without saying what he did with Gangstarr and other artists, same with The D.O.C, UGK also got quite a lot of play, even Wayne did if we're being honest....

Wayne gets play more than in the south though therefore transcends the south. The D.O.C and Premier aren't recognized as legends? Getoy Boys as a group? Outkast are too. People do know who both of them are worldwide, facts. Ask T La Rock.

I might have to agree with an edge over Nas because I am one who believed that the ones who originated the style are the greatest. And on that same note, I say Scarface is my #2 and then Nas. I say Scarface because gangsta rap and that street/real rap has gotten so big. The hard and believable gangsta rap was perfected by scarface. I think that he is the godfather of real gangsta rap. not that comedic stuff that NWA and Ice cube did but straight up nikkas with problems, issues and straight up crazy gangsta/street stuff. Thats all scarface. He inspired your Nas, BIG and Jay Z'.
what was comedic about NWA's straight out of compton? absolutely nothin. Scareface music was not any realer then the originators of Gangsta Rap(NWA). stop talking silly. i'm talking NWA with ICE cube. old Ice Cube was original Gangsta rap that face used as an instruction manual of how to do it. Same with the rest of the ghetto boys who we all loved. They put that south twist on it. These dudes were talking about being gangsta's per se. they were talking about the life of gangsta's they grew up around. also talking about the life of a hood dude walking thru the streets where real gangsta reside and shady cops ride they beat. The songs were REAL. i would know. i'm from that L.A. hood, eastside and west. if you're not. you wouldnt understand it. I would say Cube's one upon a time in the projects was comedic. but it was 100% REAL as well. but if you're not from these parts you would not be able to tell.

Face sounded more authentic than Cube.
NO he didnt. and what does it mean to "SOUND" authentic? Cube never said he was a real crip or blood(thats the gangs we had out in LA). he said he was a Nucca with an attitude. Just a random nucca in the hood trying to get from the gas station to his chicks crib in the projects to chrenshaw back to ruthellen. and he told you what he saw and had to deal with making those daily moves. It was 100% authentic because it was REAL. again, i would know. i lived here during that era. what face did was take it to an even darker place at times. but little did we know back then thats because face himself was dealing with depression(check the record on face).

Face & Geto Boys was on that back when Cube was still active with NWA and still on his ignant shyt.

dont call it ignorant.. call it Young man stuff. cause thats what it was. he was telling you how HE felt at that age living in L.A. .. Mad at everybody. mad at these chicks, mad at these gangsta for trying to jack him and shooting each other, mad at the shady cops. mad at the shady white school teachers. etc. nuccas with an attitude.
