They moved in, redecorated, and were attempting to relearn what was lost after whatever event happened which drove man to flee underground and into Central South Africa.

Facts. I was staying within civilizations/countries that have pyramids (or at least the ones I know of) but there's indeed an array of other civilizations further south well worth people's interest. I agree with what you say, with one small addition: this all happened once the original "Gods" were gone.

Interesting point. But we should point out that the whole idea of a country being one particular set of people is fairly new (the whole "nation state" thing originated only in the 19th century) whereas back then "integrating" other populations was much more common and not a thing at all, they just became subjects of the ruler. I think back then political entities were much closer to Empires than to what we see now as "states", so technically I'm not sure if the word "integrating" would make sense back then, you were just a subject of whoever ruled the place you were at. Which is why all those old Empires/Kingdoms could have various "nations" within them (population groups) and, as far as I know, have different languages. But I'm far from being a specialist. Also in your example Obama is seen as having "integrated" American society, but he was American at birth, so how can one integrate something one's already part of?
