Stopped following ESPN almost 10 years ago besides for the actual games. Social media killed them...First Take was the only thing people were still holding on to.

The competition went up. AT&T, Verizon, and Google. Cable company isn't the only player anymore.

Ad revenue for TV (even cable) still dwarfs most on demand stuff. Cable isn't the only player, but TV will always be needed for live events and ad buyers will break their necks for spots at those times. Its coming but its not there yet.

No, poor programming and editorial choices killed them. There's no fukking reason for NFL Live to be a thing in fukking May when MLB is hitting form. Nor is there a reason for fukking Sportcenter to be on for 6 hours a day. NOR should there be channels for ONLY college sports (which bloats your infrastructure 100 fold) or even specific conferences.

And First Take was their only MORNING show people were talking about. PTI/ATH/Highly Questionable and now Jemele and Mike are all shows with good followings...and those are a part of the early evening/rush hour block.

The 30 for 30 series has been some of the best shyt they done in the past 15 years. And they STILL haven't really touched on HUGE content pools like Brazilian and European soccer. Hell, they need to do one on the cultural phenomenon that was "And 1 basketball" in the 2000's.

Remember how everyone was ditching land lines for cell phones cause the land line was 200 plus a month but you could get a 3 cell phone plan for less than 100 bucks. Phone companies and the government got hipped now your ass paying 200 plus for 3 or 4 cell phone plan and 30 bucks a month for a land line....


Cell phone bill taxes use to be like 10 bucks. Now the taxes alone be 30 or 40 bucks....



Folks actually think this cutting cable.....hustling passwords shyt gonna work forever.
