Nah they don't really wanna do the streaming thing
There is much more money to be made in selling the broadcasting rights for those leagues than actually running the broadcasts themselves

and they can still offer in-house subscription services of their own to interested customers. if they started their own streaming service, they'd be cutting a revenue stream w/o proof they can replace it.

that's exactly why the streaming business as a whole is struggling; all these brands were spending hundreds of millions of dollars on direct-to-streaming product that cut out theater revenue. but if you dont have the subscriber base to support that type of move, or your subscriber base isn't growing fast enough to keep up with your rate of spend, you're fukked: you either have to accept manageable $$ losses and keep spending, or start slashing budget.

Caused by what?
Doing First Take in the morning till noon.

Then doing his podcast in the afternoons.

Then doing whatever TV that ESPN had him doing.

And on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays during the season having to do NBA Countdown, the 2 minute halftime show, and still having to be on set or on site till near midnight.

Said he would have been pumped up more if ESPN had the latitude to have a halftime or postgame show like TNT. Said he's used to long formats due to First Take having way more time to debate/analyze stuff.

Simmons agreed with him. Talked about how draining it was to do Countdown.

Stephen A just did a WWE promo/angle on Cuban Dan,Amin,Jemele and brought up a point Dan talks way too much about ESPN

I can't imagine sitting around for 5 hours just to do 8 minutes of talking after already putting in a full day of work.

Stephen A is built different.

Not all of them have the balls to go full maskoff like Will Cain.
Well in Will Cains defense, he did start out in that realm before he went to ESPN and used it to get back there. A lot of them are too scared to potentially fukk up their sports bread, which is why you seem them tip toe the line or go full mask off after they leave like Tafoya did.

That dipshyt Clay Travis was a failed shock jock sports guy and liberal until he went full MAGA and suddenly was gifted with his own sports brand out of nowhere
