Wait, has he come out as gay? I've heard the speculation but didn't know he is out the closet.
No he has not. I think people take his not condemning LGBTQ/black feminist talking points as indication that he's not a black online male militant.

Not that it means anything but he has mentioned being engaged to a women on his shows previously if I recall correctly.

How many times is he gonna repeat this line? Dude so desperate for attention

I actually could see it if they get that desperate to cut costs. it didn't seem like a possibility to me at all til they let JVG go.

something about the vibe... he seemed more upset with the cuts than usual. might see the writing on the wall that Pat McAfee gonna be the new golden boy for ESPN now.

especially if they are cutting back on NBA coverage/content.

He was close with some of the talent that got cut like Keyshawn and Rose, so I can see why he'd be upset with the cuts. The only real scenario I could see them getting rid of him is if they ask him to take a paycut and he turns it down, which is what Marchland ESPN was going to ask some talent to do a few months ago.

Todd McShay too no way :damn:
Really shocked about McShay. Doesn't really make any sense. Him and Kiper had a great rapport. I hope this doesn't mean more of Field Yates who is like a friggin ESPN android he's so bland.
Went back to look - SAS signed a 5yr extension back in 2019.

Judging by how he’s speaking, the work he’s putting into his social media presence especially now with the podcast and YT channel - it’s starting to look more and more like he and ESPN could go their separate ways if/when the contract expires next summer.
:jbhmm:
Be curious to know how ESPN is making the calculation that SAS or Pat McAfee makes the network money. I'm not convinced they'd really be hurting by cutting them.

I think cord cutting and YouTube had more of an impact on ESPN reduced success than any "go woke go broke" bullshyt. Nothing they show matters besides the actual games. The talking head shows, personalities, and analysts are just extra.

Of course it did.

Racist CACs just don't want to hear anything that might offend their fragile ass sensibilities. :pacspit:

Who has the personality to match them? The only reason First Take continued to beat Undisputed in the ratings was because of SAS.

To be honest I never understood ESPN bringing in Todd McShay in the 1st place when you already have the Godfather in Mel Kiper

It never made any sense at all and was the epitome of redundancy. Whoever greenlit that was just dumb.

They didn’t need him at all

It made total sense why they initially brought him in as it was their version of debate shows when comparing mock drafts and such. The problem eventually came in where other people came in and essentially do what they do at a cheaper cost like Matt Miller and such.

Even someone like Pollack became expendable once McAfee came into the fold.
