Another Cancellation incoming. :yeshrug:

With them seemingly looking into getting sports content on HBO Max, this might be a little hard to cancel quickly. It really depends on what kind of Bomani shows up to to the show, really.

HQ Bo could eat real fukking good off this.

Sommelier of his own farts Bo probably is probably taking a a L off this.

Just reading a synopsis of that HBO show, I don't see how Nolan thought she was going to get it from the stuff I've seen her do

HBO has ordered GAME THEORY WITH BOMANI JONES, a weekly, late-night series starring Emmy®-winning, sports journalist and commentator Bomani Jones, that will break down timely issues playing out in the world of sports. Production will take place in New York starting in 2022.

…“Bomani is one of the most unique journalists working today,” said Nina Rosenstein, executive vice president of programming, HBO. “He’s someone who gets that sports stories are often about race, politics, economics and gender, and sees a wider view that goes beyond what happens on the field. We are thrilled to be able to work with him and know that ‘Game Theory’ will deliver provocative, insightful and funny stories that you don’t hear too often in popular media.”

“This is, literally, my professional dream, to have a show like this one on HBO,” said Jones. “I’d feel that way with anyone behind it, but working with a top-notch group like Seth, Stu, Todd, Adam and Nina has me more excited than I can express. We have a chance to do something that hasn’t been done before, and I can’t wait to share our work with the world.”

“I have been dying to work with Bomani for years now,” said Adam McKay, executive producer. “He’s one of the sharpest and funniest truth tellers anywhere in the sports world.”

Yeah, this sounds like it's gonna be a lot of Shea Butter, "The Root", "Very Smart Brothas" type intersectionality shyt:francis:

Like, you know there's gonna be a lot of shyt about how we're horrible sexists for not watching the WNBA

It's no big deal to me. Other in these threads are the ones making a big deal about it :yeshrug:

He got the gig over others at ESPN who interviewed for it as well, so he should show up stunting on all of them. Use it as leverage to make back what ESPN made you take paycut and more. If not, he still has HBO to fall back on and can always go work for Dan and Skipper.

easily one of the worst posters on here…just endless juelz’ing…muhfukka you were wrong :mjlol:

“I interviewed for it. got a little ahead of myself thinking I was gonna get it. was crushed when I didn’t. BUT: the most important thing is that the show will exist, and bo is gonna knock it out of the park.”

I didn’t know she tweeted and deleted, but what’s the point of this? Isn’t it a little embarrassing to disclose this, especially coming off the news that ESPN is letting her walk, and it’s also like she’s making it about herself…despite the compliment to Bomani.

She fishing for sympathy with all these tweets?

People were literally ethering and cracking jokes about in the comments section before she deleted it. It came off looking privileged and entitled. Congratulate him and keep it moving like everyone else did.

It also just doesn't make sense. Like Katie is super vapid or shallow whereas Bomani can easily explore the nuance of a topic even if I don't agree with the conclusions he reaches. Whatever Bomani has was not going to be what Katie interviewed for. Would have been more accurate to say you interviewed for the time slot or some shyt.

It’s obvious that she was hoping that she got the gig as a fall back for losing the ESPN one and felt salty that she lost out on it.
