looks like Andrew Marchand was wrong about Bomani

Ehhh he's not necessarily wrong (at least not yet) as Bomani's contract technically doesn't expire until March. In his defense, it was actually in his original article, but it was locked behind a paywall so you couldn't read it unless you got the information from other websites.

That HBO Project information is also old as that show with Bob Costas has been on since August unless they are referring to a different HBO project entirely. It's only coming on for a times a year anyways, so it's technically not a full fledged gig.

I’m not sure how you reach these conclusions from this information. He has an entirely new HBO weekly show coming out. And yes he is wrong if his implication was not Bomani was leaving ESPN and he’s just moving into a different role. There’s nothing in here that would lead one to conclude that he’s leaving in March. Like I have no idea why you’re trying to spin that information that way :deadrose:. He even clowned that article on Twitter yesterday saying there was nothing in there but an attempt to read the tea leaves.

First off I commented based on the press release as it never particularly mentioned his HBO TV show. He's been doing a TV with Bob Costas on HBO BEFORE his new project was announcted. That's what I was referring to.

Secondly, Bomani's role at ESPN isn't changing at all as it's essentially the SAME exact shows that he's been appearing on before and the podcast with the only difference between the new Debateable TV that he wasn't even on the original promotional lineup before.

There's nothing new in that press release about Bomani's future at ESPN other than the HBO project that has nothing to do with ESPN :mjlol:

Notice in particular how that press release never mentioned a new contract extension and that he's staying with them long term.

What is there to be wrong about? That press release never mentioned anything about a new contract extension with Bomani, which literally was the premise of the original story. It's literally the same ESPN roles that he's been doing before with nothing new about it.

What is new about his role there that he wasn't doing before outside of the show that's replacing HQ? He wasn't even in the original promo and he's supposed to be one their major talent.

the article said Bomani is leaving and said his time at ESPN was sunsetting. A contract has not been agreed too, but you don’t release a press release for someone that is leaving the network in a few months. Bomani shared the ESPN press release too. It appears ESPN wants to keep him.

You make a press release for it if it's a high profile gig at HBO like the one that Bomani just got especially considering that he wasn't the only ESPNer that interviewed for it. Even Katie Nolan interviewed for it as well and tweeted essentially saying that she was salty about getting it. That's a high profile gig that other talent in the network just doesn't have even for SAS.

That HBO show was all the leverage that Bo needed in upcoming negotiations to help his cause as ESPN can't lowball him contract wise like they did last time. He finally has a sense of direction in his career that he hasn't had since High Noon got cancelled.

What did the tweet say?

“I interviewed for it,” Nolan said. “Got a little ahead of myself thinking I was gonna get it. Was crushed when I didn’t. BUT: the most important thing is that the show will exist, and bo is gonna knock it out of the park.”

She deleted that shyt with the quickness when people in the comments started calling her privileged and salty about it :russ:

It’s okay to be wrong fam. I didn’t read all this but you said you commented based on the press release but in actuality you assumed that it was the prior show where there is no reason to read that from the release. We are all wrong sometimes :manny:

It's no big deal to me. Other in these threads are the ones making a big deal about it :yeshrug:

He got the gig over others at ESPN who interviewed for it as well, so he should show up stunting on all of them. Use it as leverage to make back what ESPN made you take paycut and more. If not, he still has HBO to fall back on and can always go work for Dan and Skipper.
