J-Will has already gotten the boot and the story I read said that they are going after Magic, so I guess they are rolling with the Magic/SAS/Wilbon lineup with someone else as host.

That lineup stinks. Wilbon and SAS just kiss Magic’s ass all day. How about someone under 50 that has played in the league in the last decade

Meadowlark Media and more than likely still the HBO show with Bob Costas. I'm guessing we'll eventually see Jalen Rose leaving as well since there's no way that ESPN is still going to pay him $3 million dollars just to do Jalen & Jacoby.

He doesn't just do Jalen and Jacoby tho

gonna be a disaster :whoo:

It REALLY seems like they might've taken the wrong info from that video of the Ayton alley OOP taking off. At least as I interpret it, they're definitely chasing engagement with pairing those two, and adding Magic, who a lot of the modern NBA audience knows primarily from the comedy of his Twitter account.

It's gonna be awful, and not even in an intentionally unintentional comedy sense.

where's a credible source on this? i thought the SAS/Magic/Wilbon thing was just SAS spouting off what he'd like/how he'd format countdown.

His partnership with the New York Post has nothing to do with his gig at ESPN. The only jobs he has for them is Jalen & Jacoby, Countdown (maybe not anymore) and whatever appearances he does for them.

ESPN paid him the $3 million dollars as he was supposed to be the co-host on Get Up along with Greeny and Beadle. Once he lost that gig, he lost whatever leverage he had and is looking at a steep paycut because of it.

Jay Williams out on ESPN's 'NBA Countdown,' Jalen Rose next?

Before anyone tries to discredit Marchand and call his posts tabloids, he's coming out with a new podcast with John Ourand. The same John Ourand who broke the Rachel Nichols getting fired from ESPN story.

I highly doubt Ourand would be putting his notable rep on the line working with Marchand if his sources into ESPN dealings wasn't legit.

Thanks for making my point for me. He doesn't just do Jalen and Jacoby. He's does NBA Count Down for ESPN and the nba finals. Until a press release is sent saying he's no longer on the show he's still the lead on the show.

He deserves every bit on that 3 million he's getting for count down alone.

I'm unsure if ESPN feels that way but we'll see

That wasn't the reason why he got the $3 million dollars though. That's the point. Just like Bomani got the $2 million mainly because of High Noon and had to give up 50% when it got cancelled.

No the point is you said he only does Jalen and Jacoby which is clearly not the case at ESPN.

Reread what I said again.....

People on this site had no problems taking those Max getting the bushes from FT rumors true from the same news outlets that is reporting on the Countdown story even way before a press release was announced. If those rumors are true about the Wilbon/SAS/Magic lineup, then Rose is more than likely getting the bushes just like J-Will is. If he gets the bushes from Countdown, then he's also more than likely getting removed from the Finals as well, which will only let him with Jalen & Jacoby as the only role he has left for ESPN.

Don't sit here and mention press releases when that hasn't stopped people from talking about ESPN rumors before :laff:

Regardless he's still not getting $3 million dollars in his next contract as Get Up was the main reason why he got that amount in the first place. It was literally the reason how Beadle got her $5 million.
