Late but in.

Today was the first payday of 2018 for me, and the deposit has left. Personal challenge is to save significantly more than what I was able to put away and keep last year -- car trouble wiped out a lot of my 2017 progress so I bit the bullet and got a new one -- and I'm hellbent on making sure I do that this time.

How exactly does it work?

The app itself is tied in with your bank account and they have different rules to help you save one rule is a round up rule like let’s say you purchase something for .75 cents it will round the purchase up to $1 and put .25 cents in your savings they have other rules too I used the percentage rule so when you get your work pay deposited into your account I have it taking %10 out in putting it into my savings

So the extra 25 cents goes into your actual bank savings account? I just downloaded and I set it to round up 1 dollar and I also did the 52 week challenge.

Who still is doing this?

A Wrestlemania trip + a wedding in San Diego (Best Man) cost me considerably :francis:

I have an outside shot of saving 10% of take-home, but it requires me to definitely buckle down and get hardline about it.

I don't know if I will be able to do that, but I do know I will end up with more saved than what I did last year. :yeshrug:

I had to dip into my 10% to make a large purchase but I'm still doing it. I'm close to the point where there's no more bullshyt I want to buy (games, electronics, etc.) So I'll be able to stash a bit more.

I been slacking lately. First five months I was saying nearly 50%. But then summer hit and things just fell apart. Had like a month straight of short paychecks due to time off and then I got hit with a few normal but unaccounted for fees like my Amazon membership renewal with this new price increase, one of the annual fees on a credit card, plus this whole sun pass fukk up that really screwed me over. Plus small unnecessary spending. Seems like on the weekdays I spend maybe less that $50 the entire time and that's with putting gas at times. But then on the weekends I spend like 4 times that. A trip to the casino with a friend hurt me this past weekend, plus a trip to the grocery store to buy things for something I cooked. Hopefully I can get back on track in August and be in a good position come labor day. In the fall we hopefully get opportunity for overtime at work again so I'll really be on my grind then. For now, my finances are on summer vacation. Credit card balances still low and score still up so not completely slacking.
